    Delighted with todays result. Well
    done to all.
But have to say I'm disappointed with the paltry support Galway had
in Castlebar today. As it turned out we didn't need The 16th man.
But it would be nice of we had it.

How many GALWAY heads were at the match? Rough guess?

What channel is showing GALWAY v Offaly today's hurling match ?

Only highlights on the Sunday game. Showing Cavan game and the Munster semi-final.

That's brutal. Is sky showing it?

Sadly not. Enough time still to thumb a lift up or the GBFM alternative.

Looks like radio is only option. But I think it's not good enough that a Leinster semi final is not shown on tv

As a nearly-conservative guess, we were outnumbered 10:1. No other fans on terrace around us last evening. Very little reaction or cheering to Galway points in the second half.

Superb win; better team won, team who had a game plan and executed it to the T. However, we probably won because Mayo were so bad rather than ourselves being world-class. Yet again, Mayo had no scoring forwards, the ones who make a short cut to winning. Rossies will be a much tougher proposition; maybe not as solid in defence or midfield but have more of a scoring threat.

I am a staunch mayo fan who grew up on the border and now live in hurling country ! I wanted to pop in and say heartiest congratulations . The better hungrier team by far deservedly won . It was great to see and will help breathe live back into football across the country never mind Galway.
Fair play to all the supporters who kept the faith and travelled. Hope they are rewarded with a Connacht final ticket and a win !
    Well done again
Now I'm off to cry in a corner for a while :D

Fantastic performance. Wonderful scenes. Amazing to be there. For me, it was the biggest shock I have ever witnessed live in a match. I have gone to many Galway matches this year throughout FBD and league & could not see anything other than a Mayo victory.

I still think that Walsh is not selecting the best players available to him. However, fair play to those guys on the pitch yesterday. They played with, spirit, determination, heart, courage. They were absolutely fantastic. They should be very very proud of that performance.

Not selected or not available for selection?

You do have to say....... Fair play to all the players, they stuck with it and were getting stick from every quarter (Jim Carney? And I know he will be pleased) The ones that played yesterday should be proud of themselves, not that it was the greatest performance ever, or that they will go on and win an All Ireland (they probably won't). They stuck with it, turned up for training every week, kept a low profile and no mouthing off in the press. Keep it that way.

Go and Win a Connacht title ( which is not a given, but winnable !). Keep working hard and progressing, yesterday was a good win and sweet because they were written off. Keep improving, keep building.

Tipp limerick was poor on rte, tipp never out of 2nd gear and were rarely troubled even with a man sent off. Poor form from bubbles. Anybody at the Offaly game today? how did galway fare and who stood out?

Did anybody see the C.Cooney incident today, hope its not for dangerous play. Seen him hit a lad a belt on the ground in a club game earlier and it looked very bad. Didn't think he was like this but as i said i hope he got sent off for something minor, no one seems to know.

The dreadful weather conditions and offaly player being sent off early ruined the contest.

C Cooney was having a terrific match until he got sent off. As regards what he did - ive no idea! It could possibly have been mistaken identity. Cyril Donnellan gave a dirty belt which imo merited a red card, offaly player was down receiving treatment for a while and then the linesman brought the attention of cooney to the referee...as both cooney and donnellan both wear blue helmets he could have picked out the wrong player as i dont believe he spoke to donnellan at all. Referee imo was poor for both sides although the atrocious conditions need to be factored in addition to there being a bit of niggle all through the game!

Messy game in Portlaoise. Learned little, started slow once again (every game this year bar Westmeath) which is a big worry heading to Kilkenny who'd have cleaned up early on. We worked our way in. David Burke very lucky to stay on, undoubtedly should have been red but he got a nasty blow near the end too. Egan had to go. Completely reckless. That did mess up the game though. Cooney's was a nothing incident but ref was going to level it up.

Full back line doesn't look right heading into Kilkenny. Hanbury has proved the doubters wrong most of the time but was sloppy today and I think Kilkenny will exploit Moore. Joe Cooney did ok but heading into Kilkenny don't know is he up to that level, Cathal Mannion's form has tailed off hugely this year and he had two bad games against KK last year so I'd leave him on the bench for the next day. Davy Glennon in and out at midfield.

On the plus side Conor Cooney looked off the pace initially when he came on against Westmeath but he finished that game strongly and had a good day today. Huge plus for us. David Burke is playing great stuff and half back line looks sold. Conor Whelan looks to be pushing on and showed well today. Took one selfish shot near the end when he should have passed. We need to be more ruthless in front of goal. A lot of bad wides even allowing for the conditions and Offaly were there to have 5 or 6 goals put past them in reality.

Hard to know where we are at. Apart from the first 5/6 minutes today was a non-event, we drifted in and out of the game though and to have Offaly within 6 with 10 left was down to pure sloppiness. Job done but we'll need everyone to be at it from minute 1 to give us a real chance in the Leinster final.

It was for a second yellow. that's what the linesman came to tell the ref. it may be a case of mistaken identity with cyril donnelan.

Fair play to you for going. I really didn't think Galway had a chance. i was at the match against fermanagh in Tuam on Easter Sunday and Galway were very poor.

Looked straight red both live and on TV, though Cooney was on yellow at that point. If you see the incident, Cooney gives a slight flick-out of the hurl which catches the stooping, running OY player on the side of the head who drops immediately clutching it. That was probably the viewpoint of the linesman who reported what he saw.

Swings and roundabouts; David Burke lucky not to see red for his incident. (Sent off here v Offaly before in '10 I think?) Hope his injury is not serious as he'd be a bigger loss even than Cooney I think; not a lot of cover for midfield in his absence.

I disagree about Moore. He is a good man-marker. He had the better of Henry Shefflin in the first half of drawn 2012 final (even Eddie Keher said that) and Cody being the tactical genius he is, took him off Moore. He went on almost singlehandedly to bring Kilkenny to a draw.

Moore is in great shape. He is a physio after all. He would not be holding his place otherwise. he is the only old-timer starting matches

Cathal Mannion was not great today but he did set up one of the goals.

Agree with you fully about the wide count and the need to up the gears from the start

Have to agree regarding the crowd in Castlebar on Saturday evening. We were seated in the stand - surrounded by Mayo heads. Still didn't stop me celebrating like a loon at Tom Flynn's goal and the subsequent points which prompted some stern looks from some green and red clad fans.

The lads were fantastic. Thought the tackling was unreal - and the 5 "debutantes" did very well.
Eoghan Kerin gave Evan Regan a tough evening. Constantly niggling at him and in his ear. Thought he was lucky not to get a yellow TBH.

2012 Moore was still a quality player but that's 4 years ago now. Last couple of years he's picked up a lot of injuries. He hasn't done much wrong this year but I do worry about him against Kilkenny. I think he's there really due to a lack of credible alternatives.

Unbelievable stuff. Killed me to miss it but had the Euros long since booked. Still, coming back depressed after the Belgium game, to have that pick me up was amazing, the clear highlight of an amazing week away. Disappointed to hear from the oul fella there wasnt many Galway there. To be expected with so little hype going in, and the Soccer on. Still, lets hope a serious crew go to Hyde park now.

Kinda laughing at the media reaction solely about Mayo being poor. The Galway defence we're fantastic while the forwards (and Conroy) kicked some dynamite scores. Think Galway wouldve beaten the vast majority of teams on that performance. Kyne looked very solid, O'Donnell is a real leader now aswel as Sice. Brannigan and Comer were lively, while Shane Walsh was quiet, hes still a mecurial genuis at times. His play prior to Cummins point was epic. Really glad for Flynn and Conroy after some of the days Galway midfields have had. Conroy can really be top notch, just needs consistency.

Plenty to work on also. letting Mayo live off soft frees and losing the run of ourselves for 10 mins in the late first half, stuff that can really be eradicated. Definite potential there

Let's hope not! Being ploughed at the moment. Mind you, no more than Tullamore for the hurling, you'd be home just as quick as from Salthill from my departure point.

Huge fortnight for Galway GAA. Good to hear Conor Cooney and David Burke are in the fold for KK.

No point hoping someone else kills off the KK steam train.

Us being the Leinsters second-best team will have to be the ones to to do it.

Similar to the footballers with Mayo, better to beat them then hoping for the soft side of the draw and dreaming that Sligo or Roscommon would do it.

I think we're marginally stronger than this stage last year.
Sure Glynn is a big loss but Cooney was the best forward two/three years ago and Whelan only came onto the scene after the Leinster final.

Beating KK is simple enough on paper.... Stop Reid and Hogan, obviously harder in reality.

Far stranger things have happened this year than a win on Sunday.
