I was really hoping Silva would retire in the octagon after that. I lost a lot of respect for him after the PED stuff came out, though admittedly after being in London to see him v Bisping live he has started to win me back a bit. Now his record reads L, L, NC, L, L with his last win coming in 2012. He is starting to destroy his legacy at this stage.

On Brock, I have no issue with him using his wrestling skill to win. It's not the prettiest or most entertaining to watch, but it's as much of a credible way to win as striking or jiu-jitsu for example. If you're an opponent and you can't defend it, that's your problem. Do we think we'll see him again or was it really a once off?

Overall, an average card for me, despite it starting like a house on fire. There has been far, far better this year alone. 7 unanimous decisions (which were all really clear) and only 1 real significant upset. The crowd were pathetic too.

I can't help but wonder what might have been if McGregor and the Irish crowd had been involved. :(

I dont think Silva is ruining his legacy,to me anyways its probably improved it stepping up to fight a man 2 stone heavier on 2 days notice, arguably beat Bisping the current champ at middleweight too,his record wont define him.

That's what stood out the most for me. UFC is becoming a pantomime

Imagine if someone had told you back at UFC 100 that come UFC 200 the main event would be won by an openly gay woman. The sport has come so far in the last number of years.

I dont get the big deal about this,I couldnt care if a fighter is gay straight or whatever religion makes no odds to me cant see why it would mean any difference to anyone.

See, thats the thing for me. I may be in the minority of course, but it strikes me as odd that it matters? Who cares what sexual orientation someone is?

I don't see it as being a big deal the first openly gay fighter won the title any more then I would think it was a big deal the first black, asian, whatever fighter won the title.

If your sexual orientation doesn't matter, then it doesn't matter surely?

Nor me, but it matters to a lot of people unfortunately. And I think coupled with the fact that back then women competing in the UFC seemed about as likely as one of us landing on the moon, it's pretty cool overall.

UFC match making has really ruined the chances of a ronda return hasnt it? No chance of a ronda rematch with Holly or Miesha, didnt think Rousey would return anyways but looks less likely now.

I think they'll be hoping Holly makes short work of Shevchenko on wednesday so they can give her a shot at Nunes in the hopes she can out strike her.

Holm looked hopeless on the ground against miesha round 2 and 5 I'd fancy Nunes to strangle her, like Nunes as a champ not sure shes built for 5 round wars but think shes a bit of a wrecking ball 3 finishes in her last 4.

Holm has good TDD though, and she won't get dropped as easily as CupCake did, MMA math and all that though so honestly, who knows wtf would happen.

Sage fight has gone under the radar today not seen much comment on it,I worry for his health if they match him with somebody who can fight sometime.

Well the fight pass prelims turned out to be the most exciting part of the night! I hoped after a start like that would be the setup to a card loaded with finishes. Sage has more holes in his game than a block of swiss cheese. TJ looked well, it was a good fight. Gastelum looked great against Hendricks! I thought it was going to be a slow slugfest and even though Hendricks tried to make it into 1, Kelvin kept going. Hendricks should never be allowed to fight at WW again, cut destroys him. Could be compete at MW though? Gastelum showed how effective some speed and precide striking can work against him, likes if Bisping would dance rings around him and box the head off him.
Cain, wow! Looked like the Cain of old. Hope he stays fit now and gets a run of fights under him. Browne looked completely out of his depth, was nice seeing him get punched repeatedly in the face. Aldo looked very good I thought, and the opposite for Frankie. I thought Frankie would take him, but he looked smaller and weaker. Sets up a possible McGregor fight now but I still don't think Aldo has enough to beat him. DC? yeah I'm no a fan and he'll not win many fans. I'm just not a fan of his type of fighting. He pretty much done what I expected. Same for Brock, I hoped he would get KO'd but knew his only hope was getting Hunt onto the ground and try to gnp him. Nunes? She just destroyed Meisha :(

Overall thoughts on card are no complaints. It didn't live upto the excitment or hype that I had hoped for but a lot of it was pretty much as expected. Do I blame people boo'ing during the main card? No, it would have been very expensive for the fans to be there last night, on the biggest card in UFC history and they see some fights appearing not to try to win the fight but to stop their opponents winning. Old cliche goes "styles make fights".

It brought an end to 3 good nights of fights and we're all probably feeling the effects of it now. I tried to stay awake for the presser, seen Brocks but faded badly waiting on the others. I remember hearing the 1st few questions but eyes were closed and I was drifting into hibernation. Finally dragged my lazy hole outta bed about 5 today :D

    He's a young lad though. He's only 20.

I dunno. They do be getting notions. Like when they padded out Van Zant's record for a few fights and they got her murdered by a real fighter.

I think they'll give him one or two more and then give him a top 15 guy.

I see that point, but it doesnt wash look at some young fighters and they are like seasoned vets compared to him, that asian Kid from the other night ko'ing legit fighters dead in a round,I wouldnt mind it but the fact hes getting the push annoys me.

Was the older fella in Sage's corner his da? I've heard load of chat about his da in the past but don't know what he looks like. I noticed between rds the aul lad started giving his advice and the other cornerman kinda rolled his eyes or looked at the ceiling, interrupted the advice and told sage what he wanted.

Rory McDonald beat Nate Diaz and was seconds away from beating Carlos Condit when he was 20.

There is literally no progression from Sage's first fight to now.

yeah! Reminded me of Eubank corning his son and giving bad advice. I think corning is quite a specialist role, you need to know what your at and what is relevant to winning the fight. Wasn't his da a bodybuilder or something? Needs to know his place and let the actual coaches do their job
