    There's a massive amount of hyperbole going on in this thread. People whinging over the order of;
    • Aldo V Edgar
    • Hunt v Lesnar
    • Tate v Nunes

are making a massive deal over nothing. The only people that are really effected are the fighters involved. The whole faux-outrage on behalf of a fighter is very odd.

Mieshas belt is the only legit title on the line yes,but Aldo v Edgar is the much bigger and more important fight IMO,its not far fetched to disagree with Amanda Nunes headling such a huge event (shes a complete nobody),I cant complain too much because I'll be tuning in reguardless.

also, what happens if Silva catches cormier?

He becomes the LHW champion, and the third two division champion in UFC history.

I've lost so much faith in Anderson Silva over the last few years. His first fight with Weidman, Diaz, Bisping. He wasn't even trying.

But a dangerous as fuck 205lb DC is gonna be enough to make him turn it up. I'm honestly starting to think we could actually see the return of the spider here...
...and I hate myself for letting him get my hopes up.

its not for the title, anderson didnt want a 5rd fight.

It's worth pointing out that prior to McGregor, a title fight always took precedence over a big fight non-title fight.

But there's nothing wrong with disagreeing with the decision they make. Voicing an opinion just like anything else. Its not my ideal order either.

But I was more referring to people acting as if the whole card is ruined because the order is changed. It's a bit over the top tbh. Will the order really affects anyones enjoyment of the card.

Who said that? I must have missed it. If the card was ruined, nobody here would tune in to see it. I'm pretty sure we'll have the biggest crowd for a non-McGregor event thread in a long time.

    Is that confirmed?

I thought nothing was official yet?

Cormier losing to Silva, at 205, would be an awful result for the UFC.
If its a decision maybe they can spin it, but a finish would ruin the LHW title's legitimacy.

    General tone/attitude.

But somebody did say it was an average card after the main event was changed :pac::pac::pac::pac:

I'm glad McGregor was pulled from UFC 200. Imagine all this madness on top of McGregor-mania. The place would be chaos

Was confirmed in the presser, it's a 3 round fight. All title fights in Nevada are 5 rounds.

If that's what somebody would call an average card, they'd want to get checked out (or thrown into the octagon with Cain for a few seconds until they change their mind).

As for McGregor, it's so obvious now why they pulled him over the littlest thing, the card absolutely 100% did not need him. It would've been a complete waste leaving him there for one big payday when they will now get two big paydays because he's such a huge draw on his own. Easy to say in hindsight of course, I definitely wouldn't have predicted it. I think 202 outsells 200, if the big fights stay intact. McGregor, Diaz, Rumble, Glover, Condit, Maia, Cerrone and even Garbrandt now on the same card is the stuff dreams are made of.

That's a shame, but understandable given its 2 days notice.
If Silva stops him within 3, we'll have gone from 2 LHW champs to zero in less than a week

Couldn't they just come to a gentlemen's agreement to fight three rounds with each other, and play touch butt for the other two? That way it's a title fight and Anderson doesn't die from exhaustion.

Anderson won't last the 3 rounds anyway so it's all moot.

He's about to get dumped onto his head until he can't get up again.

Replace one juice head with another juice head, delighted there's a fight anyway the card is still unreal!

Wow! Surprised its Silva of all people.

Can't see this lasting very long, DC will just toss him around like a ragdoll

I thought the rules were "all fights are three rounds of 5 mins with 1 min rest unless they are title fights or headlining main events, title fights or main events must not be more than five rounds "

Dana says it's not a title fight tho I wonder why ...

Probably because Silva couldn't possibly be ready for a 5 round fight on 2 days notice, one of those days is probably spent on getting **** ready and travel

Two 41 year olds v two 38 year olds. Fighting it out for a nice retirement pension.

    Are Nevada rules different

Wow excited to see Anderson vs Cormier, happy with that.

Tate Nunes as the main seems madness, Brock headlining attracts way more casual viewers, don't see the logic and certainly an undeserved accolade.

Cant see anything other then cormier smothering him. Silva wouldnt have the stregth to avoid any sort of td from dc.

After Silva got suspended, I believed Jones was the greatest ever. With everything that has gone on over the last few days I don't know anymore. I'm starting to wonder is there an even greatest ever. In soccer stars such as Messi & Ronaldo are idolized. This does not seem to be a sport of fairytales.

I'm happy with Miesha headlining. A huge step for women's MMA and just proves how far the women's sport has come.

Who gives a fcuk what the running order is! Its the huge big cherry on top being the 3rd night of fights. Does 1 fight being before or after another make any difference to our enjoyment as fans? I hope not!! They're all gonna fight, we're all gonna watch.

I'd love to see Silva KO DC, something crazy looking like the Griffin ko would be sweet

It's still a fantastic card, delighted for dc his reaction when dana told him Jones popped was telling he was so dissapointed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

Tate and Nunes being the main event is an anti-climax of sorts for me.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

Tis a good style match up Miesha eats bombs and gets stronger as the rds go on,Nunes has 2 rounds in her max and shes going to try take Tate's head off,if she fails shes getting choked by the 3rd imo can see it being a cracker, also feel with travis fighting ronda will be cageside im guessing so they could cut a promo for her return.
