Are you already in the preview programme ? If you are, there's an option in the Preview Programme App to update to this new build.

It's usually an automatic update, but this time you opt in / out.

Do I have to join this build to get We Happy Few early though? Or am I grand with the normal one

New update coming 2am for preview members. Not sure if it's just for those enrolled in "latest" or not.

    DETAILS
    OS version released: rs1_xbox_rel_1606.160616-1800 Available: 6:00PM PDT 6/20 (1:00AM GMT 21/6)
Thanks for helping us test the latest Xbox One update! We’re eager to show off the new features and experiences we’ve been working on. We’ve noted below a few important things be aware of before you jump in.
    • Certain content (games, apps, DLC) purchased in the new Store may only be available on consoles enrolled in the latest Preview update. This means… • Games purchased on a console running the latest Preview update can only be played on that console or other consoles running the latest Preview update. • Games purchased via Xbox.com can be played on any console. • Games purchased on a console running the previous update can be played on any console.
    • Certain parental control features aren’t functioning appropriately in the current build. As a result, we encourage users to exercise caution when letting children access a console that is using the latest Xbox One update until these issues are resolved.
    • We’ve added several settings that are already found on Windows today. These include SmartScreen Filter, which sends URLs you visit in apps to Microsoft to check against a list of potentially harmful sites, and advertising ID, which helps Microsoft present you with more personalized ads in Universal Windows Apps. You can choose to turn these off and manage your preferences for how Xbox One uses your information in Settings.

    NEW FEATURES
    • Language Independence Based on overwhelming fan feedback, we’ve enabled Language Independence to give you even more choices over your Xbox experience and how you engage with your Xbox One. Language Independence gives you the freedom to choose any supported language on Xbox One, regardless of your location.
Please try out this capability and give us your feedback. If you encounter any issues, change your language and location settings back to their previous values to see if the issue still exists. We look forward to your feedback.
    • Game Pre-orders When purchasing a game pre-order, funds may no longer be deducted from your account immediately (depending on when the game pre-order is purchased). Pre-order funds will now be deducted from your account 10 days or less prior to the game’s release date.

    FIXES
    • My Games & Apps Resolved an issue which sometimes caused game and app installations to get stuck in the Queue and fail to install.
    • Xbox Universal Store • When attempting to purchase In Between in the Store, the Store page no longer displays an error. • Resolved an issue which caused free content for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to fail to display.
    • Blu-Ray Player The Blu-Ray Player app should no longer fail to play discs after an app update.
    • Cortana • Resolved an issue which could sometimes cause poor speech recognition. • YouTube, Netflix, OneGuide, and other apps should now be more reliable with See-It-Say-It. • You can now say “Stop Listening” without saying “Hey Cortana” after using See-It-Say-It. • OneStore no longer crashes when started from a Cortana voice search. • Resolved an issue which could sometimes cause Cortana to crash when being snapped. • Asking Cortana about a friend’s online status now brings up the friend’s profile rather than the friend list. • There is now a confirmation for launching apps. When Cortana is snapped she will indicate what she is going to launch, allowing you to cancel. Cortana’s responses are also no longer shortened (allowing you to know exactly what is being launched). • Cortana’s “Listening…” should now appear more quickly after signing in.
    • EA Access • EA Access vault titles should now be available to install from the corresponding Store page. • You should now be able to purchase the EA Access Hub from the Store.
    • Screen Dimming Resolved an issue which could cause the screen to dim in numerous apps.

    CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES

    TOP ISSUES
    • Xbox Universal Store Sometimes when purchasing content from the Store, the store interface will appear zoomed in when confirming payment information. Workaround: Quit and relaunch the Store, then complete the purchase.

    GENERAL ISSUES
    • Xbox Universal Store • At this time it's not possible to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in the latest Xbox One update to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold. • You may be unable to buy, rent, or play certain movies or TV shows from the Store (the purchase button may not appear on the Store page). Please buy or rent from the Windows Store on a Windows 10 device or from the online Microsoft Store (http://www.microsoft.com/store/movies-and-tv) and the content will appear in the collection of your Xbox One’s Movies & TV app. The Xbox Video app can be used to purchase content on Windows 8.X/RT PCs and tablets and on Windows Phone 8.X devices. Windows XP, Vista, and 7.X users will need to purchase content from the online Microsoft Store. • When purchasing in-game currencies, the currencies sometimes fails to appear in-game. Games impacted include World of Tanks, Overwatch, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. • Store pages for purchased games and apps sometimes still show a “Buy” button rather than an “Install” button. If you encounter this issue, please submit feedback via Report a problem. • The Coming Soon section is not currently available in the Store, and will be enabled in a future update.
    • Movies & TV When launching Movies & TV and attempting to play a video, the menu may obstruct part of the screen.
    • Instant-On Mode In Instant-On mode, when the console enters connected standby, game and app installations in progress may fail to continue installing.
    • Payments and Billing At this time it's not possible to add, edit, or remove payment options on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in Redstone to manage payment options.
    • Profile At this time it's not possible to purchase a Gamertag change on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in the latest Xbox One update to change your Gamertag.
    • Cortana • Cortana may take a longer than expected amount of time to use commands like slow, pause, play, mute, and take screenshot. • Cortana may occasionally fail to recognize a command and direct you instead to a web search. • Sometimes Cortana reports a poor network connection, when the network connection is fine. • When Cortana is “Thinking…” sometimes the sound effect continues to loop. • When using “Hey Cortana Turn Off”, sometimes she fails to recognize “Yes” or “No” to turn off the console. • Searching the OneStore via Cortana sometimes causes her to search the same keyword multiple times. • See-It-Say-It sometimes fails to turn on when first launching an app, but will turn on after using a voice command from within the app. • Cortini sign-in prompts may incorrectly occur when trying to launch an app while not signed in. • Cortana may fail to launch Skype, Groove, and the Movies & TV app.
    • Pins • After downloading an app update, the app and all associated content pins will become unpinned from the dashboard. This only occurs once for each app after downloading the latest Xbox One update. • Pinning content from within apps (TV shows, etc.) is no longer supported.
    • My Games & Apps You may encounter an error when attempting to load Ready to Install with a large number of digital games and apps.
    • Microsoft Edge While playing a video, pressing the left thumbstick to enter full screen mode causes Microsoft Edge to crash. Workaround: Use the on-screen full screen button to enter full screen mode.

New preview update 2am again tonight:

    NEW FEATURES

XBOX UNIVERSAL STORE • Product Details Page We have dramatically improved the product details page of items available in the Xbox Store. Pages have a better layout of information and are more social.
    • Text-based Reviews We’ve improved the ratings and reviews section, so in addition to “star-ratings” for a particular title, users now see text-based reviews on the product details page. Furthermore, those reviews that are voted by the Xbox Live community to be the “most helpful” will be displayed at the top of the list of reviews.
    • New "Additional information" Section The product details page has a better organized "additional information" section, so users can quickly see if a game supports co-op or multiplayer play, the file size of the game, etc..
    • Browse and Search Results The Store also contains features the streamline the shopping experience and help users find the games they love faster, and at the best price.
    • Improved Filtering Capabilities Users will be able to find content faster with improved filtering capabilities, such as the ability to filter search and browse results by game genre.
    • Visible Pricing and Ownership State in Lists When browsing a list of games, users will now be able to see pricing information (and ownership state) for a particular game title without having to open the specific details page for that product.
    • Strikethrough Pricing “Strikethrough pricing” is now displayed in the list view in the Store’s browse and search results, helping users quickly identify which items are on sale.
    • "Xbox Play Anywhere" Titles Support The Xbox Store now offers users “Xbox Play Anywhere” titles. Buy an Xbox Play Anywhere game once, and play it on both your Xbox One and your Windows 10 PC.

    FIXES
    • Xbox Universal Store
When purchasing content from the Store, the Store interface will no longer appear zoomed in when confirming payment information.

I really like the text reviews, similar to what steam has. Great addition!

Got an invite messge for the new dashboard, yay or nay? I don't really want to be dealing with much bugs or anything so I'm happy enough to hold off if it's not all that stable yet.

If you don't want bugs, stay away.

It's very stable with games and apps, but the interface is a bit glitchy at times. That said, there have been 2 updates in the same number of days and stability seems to be much improved.

Its not stable in the slightest, title validation breaks so you cannot play games you own, dlc breaks, you cant play games you buy on this store on a mates xbox unless he is on preview, gold was broken, codes were broken - its definitely not ready for even preview yet.

I haven't experienced any of those issues at all, playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst (bought in the post-update Store) constantly, and Battlefront with DLC (bought pre-update) is fine too.

I'm sure the "playing on a non-preview Xbox" issue is accurate though, but not something I would do ever myself.

There are several issues that stop you playing content you own, for that reason i would avoid it for a while

Seems they're pushing it out to all preview members now as I've been updated without accepting an invite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,523 ✭✭✭runawaybishop

Yeah the latest build is a lot better. Still a good few issues but no real blockers.

Edit: I would till wait until next month though :)

Cortana needs a lot of work and additional options to disable her searching bing and directions etc. It's a step back in terms of voice commands more syllables to do the same thing though I know they are going to 'warm her up during boot' so that should help speed her up a fair bit the 1st time you use commands after boot up.

I'd also prefer not to see as much on screen during voice commands but that should come with not bing searching and better accuracy etc.

Yeah Cortana is quite annoying and cumbersome compared to the old voice commands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,210 ✭✭✭maximoose

I haven't had "hey cortana" register once when it should, but it'll pick up random crap from overheard conversation (that didn't say any of the words cortana has picked up on) or more annoyingly from commentators when I've had the football snapped at the side.

    Did you recalibrate the kinect?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,210 ✭✭✭maximoose

    Yeah recalibrated but didn't improve.

"Xbox..." commands are working perfectly so not too bothered as long as they are kept, maybe it's just my dodgy accent!

Nah it's not you. Theres extra processing that isn't yet turned on, when it goes live the functionality should improve massively.

Most recent update has added an "Updates" section to my games and apps. That should be handy for those of us not using instant on once it actually works. Hopefully doesn't require a disc to run an update.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,724 ✭✭✭✭MJohnston

There's a new Films and TV app in the new Store, and its the Windows 10 version. Not hugely different but a massive improvement for me is that it shows and plays all the movies I've bought from *all* regions, rather than just the one my Xbox is set to right now. That was a big pain in the arse for me as I'd bought a load of stuff in US and UK regions.

Another preview update tonight at 2am:

    NEW FEATURES

    Manage Leftover Add-ons
In the past you needed to install a game to manage its add-ons, which sometimes lead to having add-ons installed when the game associated with the add-ons was not.

To address this, we’ve added a new option in Settings to help manage your leftover add-ons. To access this feature, launch the Guide and go to All Settings > System > Storage > Manage leftover add-ons.

When you uninstall a game but leave the add-ons, the Manage leftover add-ons interface displays the leftover add-ons, and gives you the option to uninstall.

Now venture forth, and reclaim your hard drive space for more gaming!

    Updates
We’ve added a new Updates tab to My games & apps where you can view games and apps with updates available, but not installed.

Selecting a game or app from the Updates tab allows you to install the available updates. If your console is in Instant-On mode, game and app updates will be automatically installed the next time your console enters connected standby.

    FIXES

    • Xbox Universal Store
    • Users should no longer be able to purchase Xbox 360 backward compatible games from the Store without entering their password when their profile is set to “Lock It Down”.
    • Users should no longer be able to purchase movies or TV shows from the Store without entering their password when their profile is set to “Lock It Down”.
    • Resolved a majority of cases in which Store pages for purchased games sometimes display a “Buy” button rather than an “Install” button.

    • EA Access
Resolved an issue which caused EA Access games to fail to launch due to error 0x803f8003.

    • Groove Music
Resolved an issue which prevented music videos from playing in the Groove Music app.

    • Playing Games
This update contains a fix to address stuttering and framerate lag in certain games.
