    Its very difficult to define what a vested business interest is, if you restricted the ballot to those without a business interest of any kind, you would end up with Sinn Fein, the socialist works and labour running the country :D

    Everyone has vested interests. Even homeless people.... Even Sinn Fein.... (any truth to the rumor that they're involved in the pub business in the republic?)

    Maybe stronger conflict of interest rules (when it comes to voting) would work. This probably isn't the platform for that disucssion tho -
