I have another great story involving a white E-type Jag and lots of Garda cars, do you know that one too Kevin?

Would this have been in the Cork area by any chance?

^The registration plate on that Lancia is terrible looking, nice car though.

    First thing I spotted too!:D

Nice 'period' silver-on-black plates would be more appropriate!

Or even if the IRL plate was properly spaced out would be a start.

An old red plate with the black raised letters might be nice too

It was indeed, sold new out of O'Heas garage in Cork, a well known getaway car for a while anyway..........

Wouldnt this style suit the car better?

Do you remember when special branch got a batch of Renault 18 Turbos?

It didn't take them too long to write off the lot of them! :D

See new Renault18 Tdi, a touch different from the 80's model!

Is there no way the classic car scene cannot complain people like that to revenue before they screw it up for all of the people who actually have an interest

you draw the line at base level..ie it is ILLEGAL fullstop. Abnout time some of the ringers out there got caught.

I think the Revenue are well aware of these goings on, hence Dempsey's latest threats regarding off road tax.

My suggestion would be never bring anything relating to classics and tax to the Revenue's attention, unless of course to fight against something already in the pipeline.

Please save this section for pictures of classic cars, and leave the tax book talk in one of the many threads that has mentioned it time and time again.

Im more interested in seeing old classics than worrying about old tax books.

    Love the Citroen!

Not so much a classic, but I spotted this South African '01 Toyota Tazz (which is based on the old Corolla E90) earlier today in Dublin. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the only one in Ireland (or the rest of Europe for that matter!).

I wonder who in Donegal imported such a vehicle!

I would imagine it was either a local who moved over here or a DL head who lived in SA for a bit

I knew of people importing VW CitiGolfs, but not these! A similarly anachronistic South African car would be the Ford Laser Tracer, basically a Mazda 323 BF ('85-'89) with different badges built up until 2003. They were actually officially exported to the UK in the early '90s as the Sao Penza.

I saw a '97 one of those here about a year or two ago.
