You dont see one for years, then three come along at once..all liftbacks too. The Gold one is particularly clean. I prefer the round headlamps on the pre facelift cars.

I guess he means the nine year taxi rule. Most of those big JDM cars were taxis.

Spotted that too! Nice reg - '1 N**'.
Would have liked to buy it for posterity (not the usual use such tax books are put to!)

Was gonna ask the seller how much...but reckoned he would probably want at least c.€50-€100 for it. (rather than my €10-20:D

Bought a few nice 'CAR' (1980's) mags instead;)

Picked up a few CAR mags too, including a copy of the very first magazine I ever bought in 1985 with a Ferrari 288 GTO on the cover :)

Love the last pic of MK3 Cortina. Same colour/model as my Dad's one that I learned to drive in. Father bought it from a guy who worked in Ford factory in Cork. Had a 1600cc engine but interior & trim from a 2 litre GXL. Bit like the Johnny Cash song. Really loved that car.

Exactly! I shall never be forced to get into it when it is the first car in the taxi rank.

This thread has nothing to do with taxis or the nine year rule.

Id say approx 20 years ago. It was taken at Wimbeldon i think. George Polleys van is in the background.

See that red celica, 17 years ago my pal had one of those. i remember it cost 800 euro to do the timing chain on it.
Anyhow he gave it to me for nothing, after a year in my drive I gave in to my wife and dumped it. yes I know,i know!
a few weeks later I saw an ad in a UK mag looking for a 5 speed gearbox offering 125 Pounds. Ah well
