Spotted these in Kildare Street recently - not sure what the occassion was.
I was informed that the three wheeler is a reproduction built in 1986 to celebrate the centenary of the original.

Was a two-tone paintjob ever an option on these?? First one I've seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭G Luxel

That looks like a 3-tone paint job to me....but the sports mirrors look more appropriate on a Jaguar E-type....:)

Two tone was an option on the 1500s, except the cheaper "Fleet" version, a sales rep special,

.............I recall that 560SEC from new. The owner ALWAYS drove the top end MB Coupes. Back in the mid to late 70's he drove a, bought new, 350SLC, swapped for a 380SEC,then a 500SEC, then that 560SEC. Always kept immaculately. When the C126's went it was replaced with a C140 Coupe then a C215 CL500.

Organised a spin down to Kilgarven Motor Museum today, we had 12 cars and the weather was great. We went through Killarney,up Molls gap and around by Kenmare. These cars will have been posted here before so ill just put up a few shots.
The Museum is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I would say its highly unlikely , then again with the IMF in town , anything is
possible :D:D Don't think you would find many to bankroll that restoration !
    looks nice though.

Talking to Trevor, the owner of the Museum and he reckons its not beyond possibility. It has a seperate chassis he said so its got a good(ish) base anyways. Its original engine was sold to drive a speedboat years ago and it ran a diesel engine after that which must have been fun, chugga chugga. Originally an embassy car aswell.

It's amazing what is hidden around the country isn't it, I'm sure there's other places similar?

I either spotted the same Aston Martin V8 not far from baggot st 2x in the last few days or it was two different ones.

It was a light blue one I seen and this evening it was a blue one as well, looked much better in the dark though! I hope who ever owns it will take care of it and bring it back to her former glory!
