Just to give my 2c on Amazon.ie - I've ordered a few things now (free Prime because Eir gave it to me). So far the prices have either been more or less the same or, in some cases, cheaper on the Irish site. So if Amazon IE has what I want I'm happy to order there. But I will say that the overall stock does seem much lower than UK. And way more searches have EU stuff. I needed a new keyboard, so this was tricky as loads of options had the ISO layout (annoying but manageable) or EU layouts like AZERTY or QWERTZ which would have been no-gos. Just meant a bit more searching was needed. One other thing I noticed is that the list of filter options is much less on Irish site than UK.

Because I get free Prime on Irish site now, I'll likely use that going forward. If I didn't have free Prime I'd probably not get Prime on either UK or Ireland and just manage when needed (e.g. pay for 1 month's prime if a lot of orders expected).

The fact we have both sites available to us (for now at least) isn't a bad thing. But I do presume they'll shift more to Irish site going forward and wouldn't be surprised if UK Prime Delivery will stop covering Ireland in due course.

After the free month of Prime I was charged €69.90 today for 12 months. Appeared on my card payments as Harpprime Ltd. Took me a while to realise what it was.

In amazon.co.uk they let me refund the 12 month payment and pay monthly. Check the Manage Prime section in your Amazon.ie account page...

Have only run into one issue with Amazon.ie so far: vouchers don't seem to work for me so far. Can't find the printable version and email voucher never arrives. No real issue, Amazon easily cancel and refund, but frustrating that it never arrived.

Might not even have realised if I hadn't sent to my brother and asked what he used it for. Found out then he never received it. It did let me redirect, so tried sending to my own email but it never arrived there either. Checked spam folders too.

It's currently £49.15 (€58.56) on Amazon UK and €58.12 on Amazon Ireland.

I bought a phone and phone case on IE on the 17th, the phone arrived yesterday the case is showing as left courier facility and arriving Monday. I ordered screen protectors and another shock proof case on AliExpress the same day. They are both being delivered tomorrow so an order from China is getting delivered before an Amazon Ireland order. I will be staying with my UK account as long as possible. That's a joke.

I noticed that Amazon IE requires all "Sold by Amazon" items to be from the same Amazon region to qualify for free delivery over €25 without Prime. For example, I had a replacement air fryer handle sold by Amazon UK priced at €18.17 and a T-Shirt sold by Amazon IE priced at €8.79 in my basket, totalling €26.96, but it said I needed to add €16.21 to qualify for free delivery.

If I added something sold by Amazon UK to bring the total sold by Amazon UK over €25, that part of my basket would quality for free delivery, but not the item in my basket sold by Amazon IE and the same vice versa.

One workaround I found with some items is to click the "Other sellers on Amazon" and check if there is a "Sold by Amazon" region that matches the other items in my basket. In this example, the Air Fryer handle was only sold by Amazon UK, so I checked the T-Shirt and saw it is also sold by Amazon UK in the other sellers list:

After adding the slightly more expensive UK option to my basket and deleting the Amazon IE item, it gave me free delivery:

You can start a new viral trend NoMadrasMay! 😂

Is it actually cheaper to order toilet paper from Amazon than buying in the shops? Lidl were doing nine rolls for €1.75 last week. I haven't seen it that cheap for a while.

Sometimes it is but you wouldn't want to be desperate for it! I was just topping up an order for free delivery so delivery speed doesn't matter thankfully.

You wouldnt want to be in a hurry for it! I've got TP for years on Subscribe and Save along with kitchen rolls. They all arrived like clockwork on a monthly basis for years but they've been very delayed the last 2 or 3 months.

Had my first experience of Amazon free delivery being akward.
On the Amazon free delivery info page it says that there's free del if the item is shipped by Amazon.ie and/or the combined total is over the 25 Euro. But they also do this for Amazon UK items. But not a mixture of both...

I was a few cents short of free del with items from Amazon UK, but struggled to find something small value from Amazon UK to make up the difference. If I added something small that shipped from Amazon IE, it then wanted to charge me 3.99 Euro for both - separate delivery charges for both the Amazon UK and Amazon Ireland items. Kinda annoying.

I only have UK Prime but weirdly the items were considerably cheaper on Amazon IE than the UK, even when they are shipping from the UK, making it worthwhile. Go figure.

I hope this is ok to post here.

I'm actually working on a bigger money-saving site that won't be ready until the end of summer (most likely), but got distracted by this challenge of trying to quickly see if something is cheaper on UK or IE amazon.

So i put together this. I've tested it with a good number of links. It's not 100% robust so please double check the results for yourself.

I will be banging every amazon link from hotukdeals into this. Nice one.

That's really cool. Nice work! I was going to say to make sure you have some way of monetising it, but I can see the links are affiliate links so good on ya.

To save yourself any potential grief, I would suggest removing the Irish Tricolour from the entire island. Otherwise, great itility.

So made my first order on Amazon.ie, Sunday Night, delivered today as they said they would.

It strange I went looking for something like the below in mobile accessories shop in Wilton Shopping Centre, the assistances look blankly at me when I was requesting if they had phone pouches or holsters, none of them even suggested things like below.

    image.png

I never thought to price around on .co.uk, If it was cheaper, shipped by them anyway.

The things I have created recently for Bluesky: -
ATProtoViewer Android & Chrome PWA + iOS26 web app (confirmed) | QR Code
To Share PWA ~ Android Bluesky share feature | QR Code
ATProtocolHandler ~ Chrome extension to open at did urls ~ Available on CWS

A computer part on Amazon.ie would be delivered June 23rd, same product same seller on Amazon.co.uk would be delivered June 19th. What on earth is going on there?

It seems to be more expensive on Amazon.ie for some things. Books/Textbooks for example: the resellers of secondhand used textbooks aren't available on the Irish site. Also, if you are taking out Prime, it is tied to the Irish site and so you can't use it on the UK site. Despite the advertising of free next day delivery with Prime, I have yet to find anything that I wanted to buy which actually had free next day delivery and even though there is a relatively new Amazon distribution centre in Dublin, the delivery times don't seem to be any faster, in fact some are slower. By selling through the Irish site, there should be a reduced operating cost, not least as a result of the lack of administration regarding Brexit and customs forms etc. It would be nice to see this being passed on to Irish customers, but then again, what was it that one large retailer said about Ireland, oh yeah they called it Treasure Island, perhaps because we don't complain enough or demand fair pricing.

One of the children needed a power bank, so signed up for the free 1 month prime and got next day delivery. On the fence still about moving the main prime account over. Is there a consensus yet? I'm not using the prime benefits sharing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,731 ✭✭✭con747

Not a chance will I be moving until they kick me out of the UK. Far too many problems on IE from what I encounter and others state in the 4/5 threads out there on Amazon general chat threads.

No chance Im moving either. As for power banks .ie not syncing up on price. Iniu fast charge banks are still regularly half price on .co.uk to uk addresses but not on .ie. So I order direct from Iniu with discount codes for now. .ie nowhere near good enough yet to switch from .co.uk prime imo.

Ordered a hozelock hose of amazon.ie… 200 euro.

    211 in the local b and q.

Just got an email from DPD saying customs want a further 53 euro to effect delivery. Never experienced this before when buying off amazon.

Do I just let it sit for 5 days and have them return it to amazon and wait for my refund to issue?
