Hypothetical if Smyths are the only Bricks and Mortar shop to offer bundles for Switch 2 they might get physically 100 consoles in in each branch on launch day, 21 stores nationwide that's only 2100 consoles up for grabs even if it's 500 per store which I can't see so many that's 10,500.

We are looking at needing to open up a Smash Bros cosplay THUNDERDOME once the April direct happens.

Have they really switched back to LCD for the switch 2?

If I remember correctly, the Ps5 had sold out by the time those who registered their interest got notified that it was available.

What do we think about possible trade-in deal - trade in your Switch 1 for money off Switch 2? Do we think it will happen? I could see myself taking advantage of such, but probably only if the cash difference was no more than €200

Surprised this hasn't been posted already but details of Switch 2 Joycon design were published yesterday as part of a recent Nintendo patent. This Ars Technica article has a good rundown including schematic diagrams.

No stores selling The Switch 2 currently accept trade ins for either hardware or software. CeX is currently the only Bricks and Mortar store widely known for trading,

Facebook marketplace adverts and many other online community places exist for selling but I don't see Curry's/PC World Smyths Tesco or anywhere else taking 8 year old consoles in to resell.

Yeah I sold my Switch early (Christmas 2023) but didn't want to get next to nothing for it. Got 359 euro from Cex. Cant see any gen crossover for new games lasting long either...

You must have sold it with games to get this price ?!

    Anyway ...

Not long now before that direct.

Yeah there were some good games, zelda x 1, mario x 2 and a pokemon ball + the original box all in good condition. Did get some fomo for Mario Wonder.

Think you mentioned keeping zelda and mario cartridges for the future but I was happy enough to sell up at that price for a Cex store drop off. Looking forward to Switch 2 now.

I won't be getting rid of my Switch, even with the new one on the way.

I've only just replaced the battery!

It'll be a day one purchase for me...been doing that since the Gamecube.

Maybe Retro will need a lift to pick his up 😉

Think that was the Wii though

What are your primary points of interest for Switch 2 intro on Wednesday 2 per poster.

How much storage will we get

What new NSO will look like

    How it handles Switch games.

Release info - launch games, price, date, preorders

    Bundle price.

Honestly, the main thing I want is a Metroid Prime 4 release date 😅

I'm curious about what USPs they will try and push on Switch 2, and what functionality they will manage to Do A Nintendo on (i.e. either not provide or somehow gate behind NSO for no reason other than "we're Nintendo, pay up").

I'm a bit of an outlier here in that I won't be pre-ordering or day-1-buying a Switch 2. But that doesn't stop me being interested 🙂

This was posted slightly early on the Nintendo Today app with the caption “1 Day To Go”.

Showing the Joycon like a mouse again.

When are we thinking for launch? Thinking mid May myself when there’s a gap in the hands on experiences.

Since working tomorrow, I was thinking of avoiding news until I got home and watched it. But then was thinking if pre orders are announced I might miss them.

Tomorrow's Switch 2 Direct is at least 60 minutes. Yikes.

An hour. Great. Nintendo bringing a little joy to the world tomorrow especially given the **** show to be unleashed by the orange one on the same day.

I'd say they will be firing on all cylinders. They've had loads of time to polish hardware and software for this.

I'll get it sometime down the line hopefully. Need to clear the decks on all the other stuff on the backlog.

Am I the only one who treats Nintendo Directs as an invitation to ignore the needlessly drawn out videos and just wait for someone writing for NintendoLife or wherever to summarise the contents?

I asked ChatGPT and it estimated late June at $399 to $499. Hopefully tomorrow we see how accurate that is!

Currys PC World Harvey Norman and Smyths seem to be three Preorder spots, seeing as GAME is just a glorified counter in Sports Direct can't see them doing in store preorder.

They're teasing the C button on the Nintendo Today app. Just shows a finger pressing it.

    It's the Campus button.

    Final Switch 2 direct predictions?

    I'll go...

    399(possibly 450e)

    Pro controller 90e

    3D Mario(hopefully Galaxy 3 but possibly a game with DK,potentially co op).
    Mario Kart World or X.

    Splatoon and AC teased.

Zelda WW and/or TP appears, on both SW1 and SW2.
MP4 to use mouse capability(N will sell an expensive mouse pad).
Free Mario Mouse Painting game included.
Main third party games shown will be Elden Ring, THPS, Halo and/or SoM(also announced for PS5).
NSO GC shown with Eternal Darkness and F Zero.

Forgot to mention the next Fire Emblem as well.

    Possibly expecting too much

If Switch 2 games are €70, I'll be very disappointed and annoyed. There's no justification for it. Sure the competition upped their prices, but they're a generation ahead technology wise, and I still don't agree with their decision either.

PS4 generation games weren't €70, so neither should Switch 2, when that's the tech level it will be at, and will probably like Switch see a tonne of last generation ports. It'll be another case of Nintendo just seeing the competition doing something and thinking they can do the same.

And the inflation argument doesn't work. Nintendo are literally rolling in money. A price hike of €10 on each game will only see their profits soar even more, unless people say enough is enough. But they won't, they were lapping up Wii U ports and remasters of older games at €60.
