I am like a DEMON going through the background checking process for my new job. It's all done online via an American company that doesn't get the four-year degree system we have here, doesn't read your CV properly when the hiring company uploads it so gets loads of dates wrong, and then basically goes looking for a load of verification information that I don't have, like fcuking payslips from a million years ago 🤬🤬🤬

bands / musicians who don’t know when to quit touring. The Who have always been a great favourite of mine both live and on record but Rogers voice is completely fûcked, gone…Townshend nowhere near the quality of guitar player and as a musical unit they’ve lost their magic. Can’t need the money, just go off do something else. Leave people with their memories. Clips doing the rounds on YouTube are horrible. 😵‍💫🙈

I had to go and re-read the last 2 chapters of a book (that I only finished in January) before I start on the next book in the series to remind myself of what happened in the first one.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

Touring and playing to a crowd is addictive, a lot of bands say that. You are right though, if you can no longer deliver the goods you should knock it on the head. People pay a small fortune to see the older bands, it is not fair on them.

chasing businesses who I give my money to. All they needed to do is put my stuff, into a box, print a label, give the box to a courier and send me an email.

Email says ‘dispatched’ 3 days ago, courier website has no info…. Click on courier link in email or manually input it, nothing, nada ….. So I’m writing emails, chasing people, again. 😵‍💫

I'm in the middle of about 10 different series and can't really remember which book in each series i'm on so I have to keep a list of them.

When you need to go out in public but really, really, really don't want to wash your hair. There's no way I can get away with more dry shampoo either 😭😭😭

On a 20 minute cycle it's either blue sky or pissing rain. Make up your mind weather I need to leave the house and don't want to get drenched.

I am in the exact same position.

"Order before 12pm and we'll send it same day, delivery within 3-4 working days".

Great says I, might get it by Friday even!

Two days later "Here is your tracking number".

Ok says I, should get it by Monday gone as that's 5 working days.

Nope, 8 working days now and the tracking number still says "No events for this number; emailed the company to no response so far.

I don't mind delays, it's the not knowing if they even sent it yet or not!

Yep, totally… about 5.15 this evening I magically get an email from the courier, ‘dispatch alert’. So my guess is my email did some good and helped fix whatever oversight was in progress …

Tonight’s TA, doorbell at 10.15pm…👀 the fûck is this..? Local takeaway in error..With a food delivery supposed to be for next door. Even when they are not making a cacophony of noise my neighbours are still annoying…

The fact that EVERY morning Boards has pages upon pages of spam threads created overnight.

Is there nothing that can be done to stop this? Can they not turn off ability to create new user accounts overnight?

Spare a thought for those of us who have to clean it up and have to play whack-a-mole with the spammers (and it's not just a click-on-a-button-and-go type of a job, it's a bit convoluted because of Vanilla).

Stopping new accounts from being opened could hinder genuine users and would only postpone the problem to a later time.

Children who talk to their parents as if they are adults. Nope, they're just people who had unprotected sex.

Not being able to find the correct word in public, but in private the correct word or expression always springs to mind.

Went back to an old strategy game. Mid-campaign, it crashes at a specific point and none of the fixes I've seen online have worked. Joy.

Just spent 20 minutes looking for something I was convinced I'd seen on Temu. Turns out it was Aliexpress where I found it straight away.

My trivial annoyance is that I'm still without my bike, after leaving it in for a service last Friday. They can't find the right sort of brake pads locally. (Get it elsewhere then!) But I badly need the brakes to be done after an almost dodgy incident in the driveway in work last week.

I've a feeling there's something wrong with my second (less fancy) bike but I haven't tried it. So that's my second TA, that I won't just take out that bike and try it.

    Stop procrastinating, man!!!
