I know people give out, but every Div 1 game live on free TV is great to see.

Very competitive Division 2 this year, especially after Dublin and Derry last year, with an honourable mention to Louth for putting it up to them.

Lots of local derbies. Meath v Louth, Kildare and Cavan. Louth v Armagh, Cavan v Fermangh, Donegal v Fermanagh. With four Ulster counties a sort of mini Ulster competition. Only Cork is isolated from the rest.

Meath don't have to worry about Sam as they are already qualified. But like all the rest they need to avoid relegation. It is a cruel format with only 7 games to determine two promotions and two relegations from a group of 8.

Derry have started three Glen players tonight short term gain for long term pain for Harte? As expected with 13 of their All-Ireland semi final team Derry are leading Kerry without the Clifford's by 4 points at half time.

No need for the Derry keeper to be up the pitch, they've had Kerry's number all night if they lose due to that goal they'll be kicking themselves.

Kerry keeper lost that match for them. Kicked at hit and hope point with a minute and a half left on the clock. All they had to do was hold possession and try for a score with the clock up. Derry were always going to run at them for the winner

kerry should be happy enuf... Derry had 13 players from last years semi final.... they look to be flying fit even tho tis still only January... Twill be a fine achievement by Derry if they can maintain the fitness levels they are at til July... especially when ya consider the Glen contingent were going all along with the club...

Lovely goal by Monaghan. They go from a point down to 2 up with about 10 minutes to go.

Great win for Monaghan. They win the game with effectively the last attack of the game.

Delighted to have the league back, it's a great competition

Great wins for Ulster teams today. Delighted for that young hardworking Monaghan team. 5 league wins on the trot against Dublin now I think.

Farrell not being able to mention Monaghan after was puke. They were outplayed fair and square.

Best competition in Gaa starts with a bang, it has to be only a matter of time before we have two divisions of 16 played over the summer with the team on top of div 1 at the end of 15 games crowned All Ireland champions. An open draw knockout cup competition for all counties ran in the background. Its the only logical way to run Gaelic Football in this country and drag it away from the prehistoric provincial competitions.

Monaghan now have beaten the Dubs in 4 out of the last 5 league games, the other one was a draw. Good underage teams the last few years will help greatly to overcome the loss of their pure warriors in their 30s who have retired or not long left.

Lavelle, Mooney, Hamill, O’Hanlon will come on in leaps and bounds after that. Think Mohan still has to prove himself. Great night for the Farney!

Here is an easy to read list of the fixtures. I see Monaghan are playing all their three home games in Clones. They used Castleblayney and Inniskeen as well as Clones in the past. Galway have one game in Tuam. Limerick are playing their games in Rathkeale. More suitable than an almost empty Gaelic Grounds. But Tipperary are still using Semple Stadium.

Tg4 needs to sort out the camera situation for games. I feel like i should be wearing a jacket to keep dry watching the rain on the screen in the Galway v mayo game

Surely can't be that hard to keep the lens dry 🤔

Mayo playing good football at the moment. 3 decent goal chances too.

Don't know what you could do in Salthill!

Great result for Fermanagh yesterday, a couple of players left the panel too, including Quigley. Kildare look like they could struggle this year.

A shoulder to the chest and it's not even a yellow

They also need to sort out their sideline presentation. Surely they can arrange a covered area for Micheal O'Domhnail and the Pundits. It's pathetic seeing them standing there with umbrellas.

Decent from Mayo but Galway were v poor

    Rossies motoring nicely

Harsh enough red, yellow would have sufficed

Edit: No losses for Ulster if Tyrone can see this out.

Tyrone deserved the win but why was the goal ruled out in injury time? Just about a square ball?
