It's lightly snowing here most of the time but we are sending them to Charlestown instead of Carrick. Later around 3am there's one currently in Donegal that ye may get.

Wow, this is an impressive event. Just looked out a nice dumping out there, still snowing . Road cams from different areas showing a good snow covering and that's even main routes.

Seems a good bit of snow in the Northwest. We've been very fortunate here in Dublin that its missing us, despite it being extremely cold here.

I'm so jelious, showers are just west of me unfortunately 😕

Had to defrost the regulator on the gas cylinder to get the hob working, first time that has happened since we moved in. With no breeze its not that bad out actually.

The ground is white, but unfortunately not from snow. I wonder what the depth of snow is up in Donegal now.

No snow in our more populated counties from this spell but still a very notable spell in terms of cold. Easily the coldest spell since 2018 and not many colder since 1991. The idea being put about by many on Saturday that this was a bust in terms of what the models showed is, and was, wrong. A bust is when the cold spell doesn't happen. This has happened, demonstrably. The temps generally and the NW snow (Clare is very NW when you are in Cork btw) show this. Yes the details didn't turn out like many of us hoped but models don't get those right 10 days + out more often than not. I for one am enjoying the incredible frosts. Cork a non snowy winter wonderland since Monday night basically.

Interedting that Casement was down to -5° at midnight yet has risen to -3° by 7am. Disappointing as I expected an unusually low -7 or -8 here last night. Low twmperstures and hard frosts are the next best thing when we don't get a snowfall.

Any reason why the coldness eased during the night? Skies have remained clear.

Lovely frost pattern on one of the windows at the house in Longford. Of note is that the ice is not on the outside but is in fact on the inside.

Oh yes I would, bitta cold, wrap up and your sorted. Hate the normal windy wet weather, it is so miserable and pain in the bum going out. This is lovely dry (in most places, and places that are not have snow!) calm bright, whats not to love !

I have never heard the road that passes my house as quiet.

    Very very few cars passing.

Schools off again, and I'd guess tomorrow will be the same, if it's another cold day/night.

A lot of weather porn people love it. When the bills arrive through the door for heating its usually different though.
