A snow shower at 8 am

A touch of winter on some of the Mayo mountains this morning. Some impressive cloud tops also on some of those showers rolling in off the Atlantic.

    Is that Nephin?

Mountain forecast said Croagh Patrick would get decent snow up from Wednesday to Friday.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Showers of hail and graupel early this morning here in Kerry, grand bright sunny spells and a very cold damp wind in off the sea.

Bit of a dusting on the Sliabh Mish Mt's this morning.

Sleety hail mix in cork city that looks like snow when it’s falling

edit: more of a snow sleet hail mix now

edit 2: very wet snow now but blowing a bit in the wind. Stopping though. Unexpected

Yes, you are correct, that is Nephin. I could see that Croagh Patrick also had a bit of a dusting earlier this morning and the Sheeffry Hills seemed to have got a bit of a white coating too.

Only thing is, the strengthening sun can make light of these coatings if it gets the chance. Still plenty of showers however forecast over the next day or two and definitely a good chance of seeing more white peaks tomorrow morning and Saturday.

Wet snow shower just passed through. Nothing sticking but some decent sizes flakes. North of Kilkenny City, 222m asl

White outside after a torrential shower of hailstones with some wet snow mixed in at times.

Recent moderate shower of soft hail and ice pellets at the summit of Lough Crew in county Meath at about 270m ASL

It was a lovely day here in Meath, sunshine most of the day and very good drying conditions at last. Didn't feel cold at all except for now that the sun is setting.

Feeling chilly here in Dublin City Centre, was nice walking around the hospital grounds but its bitter

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭giveitholly

Completely agree, bad showers all day and then from about 5pm nearly a continuous train of showers, bringing 8mm for the day and 106mm for the month so far and still a week left in February

Rough night here in Kerry, strong winds and heavy showers of rain and hail hammering off the roof and windows.

Was very windy and rainy last night here too in East Sligo. OH was just heading off to work a few minutes ago and it was snowing outside! Not for very long, big,wet flakes. It's still raining now and there are some very dark clouds so we may get another bit.

And now it's bucketing down hailstones! Lights on.

Snowing here again more heavily but it's too wet to stick

Chilly enough in Dublin. The breeze is very cold. A very strange start to Spring this year. A few lovely days but mixed in with some terrible weather as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,154 ✭✭✭highdef

Still a week of winter to go but you may be able to copy and paste the above next Friday, when it will be the first day of official meteorological Spring.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,893 ✭✭✭pauldry

Snowed a lot on Benbulben the last couple of hours. Cleared now but the snowline is lower than forecast. Wintry hail at lower levels too. Snowline about 150 to 200m

Not as nice as yesterday here in Meath, fully cloudy, no sunshine and feeling cooler than yesterday. Looking forward to the end of this cool muck already and back to hopefully Spring like conditions in about a weeks time.

Whatever high ground I can see to the west of me is white after some heavy showers this morning, probably Derryclare, Connemara National Park, no point taking a picture as its about 40kms away

That old chestnut...no worries if you don't consider Feb as Spring but I do and I think a vast majority of the country do. Lovely afternoon if a little cold today. Looks like it will be dry for the game in Dublin tomorrow which will be a bonus.
