Morning all, just tuned in. I see the spillage causing further fiasco.

Can see the pit exit causing chaos. I think any accident here is going to bring out the red flag also. Could be a long morning fighting sleep

Tbf it's a great spectacle if nothing else.

Max gets the early need, and a bit of a mess towards the middle.

    Grip issues all around.

    Fingers crossed for great race

    VSC already. Must be debris.

    Perez pitting

Surely Verstappen pushed Leclerc off? Some start from Yuki up to P11

  • Registered Users Posts: 511 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

Surely Max has to give that back..

    Oh Lando what!

Could be a red flag incoming for a Norris incident.

    Safety car is out.

Max is so good off the line

First safety car at Las Vegas. Lando having a terrible weekend. Very unlucky.

No grip, nothing Norris could do really.

Hamilton lucky with the debris, a piece came flying towards his head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,610 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Very lucky Norris didn't take anyone else out with that crash

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,049 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Did look like Max was never going to make the first corner. Only thing is, sometimes they aren’t too strict with first lap incidents

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,610 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

They should have made Verstappen give the place back under the safety car

Max gets a 5 second penalty.

Won't mean too much by the looks of things.

I think it is harsh enough for what they call a first lap racing incident.

That's a cop out penalty tbh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,841 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

"yeah that's fine, send them my regards" Max

Some at Sky are hating this.

Will have to see if the 5sec make a difference during the pit stops, Ferrari closing a little

Drivers have been benefitting from the 5 second penalty all season yet Sky only making an issue of it when it benefits Max.. And we don't even know yet if it will benefit Max.

A 5 second penalty is pointless. Either he did something wrong or he didn’t. Personally I think Max was in the wrong so should have been made give the place back.

I find first lap incident is a bit of a cop out bandied around inappropriately sometimes.

Verstappen doesn’t even keep it on the track. No room for LeClerc to go anywhere. Far too aggressive for any lap.

Max and Redbull would have probably been in a better position had they given the place back - but that was never going to happen.

The gap has never amounted to much more than 2 seconds. Also, any gap built up can go straight to nothing with another safety car which is highly likely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,841 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

They were both committed which can sometimes be confused with aggressive. They both headed straight for each other from the get-go knowing that the first corner comes up fast.

With positions reversed from the starting grid I dare say it would have been the same, and Max would have been on the radio calling for the position back. They are racing drivers and it was a racing incident for me.

Sounds like Sainz could be in trouble with cooling, team saying they might need to stop the car, it must be bad

Looking like a 1 stopper barring a late SC.

EDIT: Think I spoke too soon..

Going Charles now hopefully he wins the race if Ferrari do not feck it up.

Hamilton decides to knock the safety bollard onto the track.

A favorite pastime of mine when playing the game.
