off to nbc / usa for xfinity and cup , next years us schedule is even more mixed up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'm no fan if Fox as a company but their Nascar coverage is far better than NBC'S.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

nbc are changing there coverage Jeff Gordon instead of Dale Jr and some other changes aswell id say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Not many would agree with Hill be seen as a clean driver,

SVG remembered COTA when making the move at Sonoma - but unlike Hill ,SVG didn't wreck him ,

At the end of the race SVG caught up with Hill and started doing burnouts around him , in the press conference later SVG did reference Hill taking him out at COTA

2 wins on the trot for SVG, is next year too early for Cup ?

Dale Jr has moved over to the streaming services hence he is no longer on NBC unfortunately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yesh I liked Dale. Was looking for information about Jeff Gordon joining NBC but not a word about it. He's VP of Hendricks son I'd be surprised to see him do it.

he was on Nbcs indy 500 coverage and i think i remember something about him being on the nascar coverage . but with no Dale Jr . there sounds like there will be some changes

track and tyres blistering etc a big issue in the xfinity ioha ,

ended up with the track changing as to where it was very hard to pass

Mayer wins , Chandler smith 4 seconds ahead on stage 2 . go back on a restart and due to track condition can gets back up the field

new hampshire moved forward to 7.30 tonight irish time due to weather fears

rain has got them after a few cautions . reddick stayed out and is leading . blaney and hamlin behind

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I wonder will it get back running. You would normally expect it to be called but with the wet weather tyres there they might decide to finish it if the rain ends soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Thats what I was saying, this wait is going on a long time. It's like they want to finish it.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

with the rain now there bound to call it - let the people watch the indycar

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

They are going back racing by the looks of things. I just knew it when it went past half an hour without being called.

It suits all the guys that took the gamble on staying out because I believe these tyre changes are untimed so you don't lose position.

So basically not taking tyres earlier doesn't hurt you.

During the prayer or invocation tonight I was remembering one years ago, the best Nascar prayer ever. Well worth a watch. 😁

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

a nashville marathon . Dinny looses it a few times with cautions . then Logano holds on after multiple overtimes .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Bell was very unlucky. I don't understand why all those leaders took four tyres towards the end.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

the lack of grip after the rain is maybe why less tryed the 2

It's great watching SVG race on these street tracks.

I remember Bell was very unlucky in this race last year. He could be dangerous tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,719 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Yeah, I have a feeling Bell will play dirty with SVG. Wet at the end of Stage 1. The restart should be good.

Ah Briscoe, you ruined the race that was on. Disappointing for SVG to be punted into the wall (not by Bell).

I missed a few minutes, is SVG out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,719 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Yeah, Briscoe went hot down the straight, locked up and clipped SVG punting him into the wall. Undriveable, so out.

The dinger could be a danger man in these conditions. It's kinda like he has x-ray vision or something, he can pass a lot of cars quickly in weather like this.

its gone a bit silly with the rain there are suds on the track . .

Really enjoyed the race, exciting end to it, just a pity it was so late with the delays

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

It was great to see somebody outside if the usual suspects win. I was shouting for Hand though. He'd have been a bigger shock that SVG last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Questionable decision by Nascar ,not throwing the yellow until the white flag was waved.....

With many cars running on empty Nascar didn't want a repeat of multiple green/white chequers.

Good to see Nascar back on the Indy oval

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yeah, I don't get how the yellow took so long. It was terrible when it wasn't on the oval, not the same race at all.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

its was as if they were wanting to finish the race after the red flag earlier . and out to try and avoid another yelllow flag as it would lead to more . any other time a red would have went up earlier

it was also good for them that Larrson won at Indy !

Gabeheart went a bit off course late on to try and win for Dinny , after doing great stuff early ,

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

Dennys views on the 400 are very interesting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭Infoanon

THat was an hideous finish to a race,

Austin Dillon on the last lap wrecking Logano and then wrecking Hamlin in the next corner has made the 'sport' a joke.

Elton Sawyer has said that the last lap will be reviewed but i wouldn't hold my breath

That the #3 team were telling Dillon to wreck Hamlin may lead to a fine but in any other sport outside of WWE this would be a DQ

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

Bumper cars is what it was , Hamlins Podcast today will be interesting - Logano and Hamlin are not 2 that you want looking to get you back.

I missed it last night but just watched the finish now.

Logano had a slight wobble just before Dillon hit him. I've no problem with that move. The Hamlin one is different, he moves down the track but Hamlin moves up the track as he's going by. Dillon would have had to jam on his brakes to avoid that.

I don't see any way the result gets changed. I do t really have a problem with it either based on things I've seen even this year.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

hes rammed him from far away even after a wobble its 2 a ramming not a bump and run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭Infoanon

If ,as is being reported, that Dillon was told to wreck Hamlin ,and right hooked the car , I can see harsh penalties .

A line has been crossed, Logano wobbled is one of the worst excuses I have ever heard , he was rammed pure and simple..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,816 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

I never liked Dillon, especially not after the way he wrecked Almirola to win Daytona; but last night just made me hate him even more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

He got the back of his car straight on, not the side of the back. Logano went sideways because he wobbled just before the bump.

The Hamlin one, he definitely moved down but Hamlin went up too.

There'll be nothing done about it. Did you see Larson go straight down the track into Buescher I think it was twice before the finish line? Nothing done about that.

Neither Logano nor Hamlin are saints, they've done plenty of similar stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Logano did not wobble, he was rammed from a car 4 lengths behind.

TBC Dillon was then told to wreck Hamlin

Dillon right hooked Hamlin , it's compete BS to suggest that Hamlin moved up.

Nascar have stated that the incident it being reviewed and penalties if any will be announced on Tuesday.

I will be surprised , astounded , if Nascar do not act as it faces the question, is it a sport or entertainment?, that the DQ word and unsporting behaviour have been mentioned leads me to hope that Nascar will penalise Dillon , precedent for right hooking is suspension , for teams instructing unsporting behaviour, disqualification from the play offs.

You need to go and watch it again. It's on the Nascar app and probably on the website. Hamlin definitely started to move up as he was passing Dillon.

And Logano had a very slight wobble just before Dillon hit his bumper.

And Logano and Hamlin have done these things many times too.

I'll be shocked if anything happens.

Hamlin is a hypocrite. He's wrecked cars a couple of times to get the win. I didn't hear him telling NASCAR to dq him after those.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,985 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

most of his incidents have been side to side get em loose give em a nudge , type incidents , not deliberately go straight through the bend take one out then turn inside a clip another

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,323 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

So you are saying it's fine to put them in the wall? It's okay to go up the track but not down? He's put at least two in the wall in the last two laps of races to get the win. Larson last year is one.
