@ew999 contract is given once you have been cleared from NAS Occupational Health that you are fit to work once you have completed the Occupational screening and fitness exam.

    Thanks for the information

Just another question, I have passed my interview from july and am 99 on the panel how long until I could hear anything back from them. I assume I don't do anything until I hear back.

You will be waiting a while. Most of us here are on the panel from November 2023 and some even before then waiting for our call up, so they have to exhaust our panels before they move onto yours. Its a long waiting game unfortunately

Does the previous panels not expire in November of this year ?

yes but they always extend the panels for a further year, they have done with the last couple of panels.

Ok Thank you. I'll just need to be patient 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 HannahSpanner

I think you learn the patience in this part for sure. I thought I’d be starting next month or January at the latest when I did my test and interviews……..now I’m thinking it probably more like Sept next year 🙈 Which will then be 2 years wait from interview to starting for me at that stage - hopefully there will be a January course and by some miracle I get on it, but it seems there are still ongoing panels made up from elsewhere too (I’m on the panel from interviews last year / 2023)

Thats a long wait for you. Recruitment freeze is probably a lot of why the wait is so long. Hopefully it gets going now.🤞🤞

Quick question, if I were to change jobs now in the meantime, does that matter to them in terms or references or do I inform them?

No it doesn't matter. Just be sure you can get a written reference from your previous employers when the time comes.

Good luck to all those starting in ballinasloe tomorrow and to everyone else waiting we are one step closer

    Hi

Is the overall panel number only the active panel members (As in have C1 ) or also the dormant ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 ew999

Im actually not sure. I assume it includes dormant but the people who are dormant won't be offered an expression of interest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 chemicals404

yes thats what im think but how many are dormant on the panel if im approx 240 overall across all panels

    Would be nice to know😑

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 HannahSpanner

I’m actually not sure either, but I’m now wondering if the overall panel number doesn’t actually include the dormant people, just that my overall number only went down by 20 comparing before and after the recent intake (rather than going down by the 30 positions given for Balinasloe) which makes me think some additional people were also added to the panel 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 ew999

How do you find out your overall panel number?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 HannahSpanner

I sent an email to the support staff email requesting my over all panel number and they sent the reply on then……..I just double checked their response from when I did that and it does say that overall panel number will change due to people becoming active or going back to dormant so it does appear also that anyone ahead of you in the queue who is currently dormant will not be counted, so when they are active they will push you another position back

Thank you for the information. I'm debating do I even want to know my overall panel number 🤣 o

Unfortunately no one here will be able to answer that it will all be speculation for now.

Hiya, I'm hoping to apply for 2025, I was wondering if anyone would have any tips for how to prepare and give myself a better chance, any and all tips would be greatly appreciated (especially in terms of fitness tests and thing like that) thank youuu

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 HannahSpanner

fitness tests won’t happen until you accept a position so if you apply and do tests and interviews over summer 2025 you won’t be getting a position until 2026 at the earliest so you have 1-2 years to get fit so can start now and be flying along :-) (From my understanding from other people who have already done the fitness test it’s the Chester step test that is used)

For the reasoning tests I just bought a book called “psychometric tests for dummies” and worked through the abstract and verbal reasoning tests for a little extra practice as well as the ones that they provide you to test out.

Does anyone know when the next offers will be out ?

Is it likely to be for Jan 2025?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Kitkat73

Was hoping it would be January 25 myself but I would imagine they would have sent out eoi's by now if they were planning on starting a class in January. I could be wrong though and I truly hope that I am wrong cos its dragging on and on!! Maybe someone else has heard differently? 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 medmark

I wondering about that. Haven’t heard anything about it either way.

    Hi

I recently applied for EMT position for lifeline ambulance service. I am wondering does anyone have any experience with the clinical and driving assessments. I have my emt license since 2020 but never got to use it and I am nervous about the clinical assessments as I am out of practice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 HannahSpanner

I worked back from the last one and EOI for the most recent September intake were sent out 24th May, so if there is going to be a January intake then I would imagine it would be this coming week / weeks.

Hi sorry, long time lurker here, if you are out of practice I suggest you volunteer with your local branch of the Red Cross, Order of Malta or St.Johns Ambulance to get back into the swing of things.

They are all PHECC approved so you can keep up your CPC points and patient contacts to keep the EMT qualification in order

Wouldn't that be so lovely?...an end to the waiting game! I have been told by 2 different paramedics currently working for NAS that the HSE are looking at changing the process further down the line to CAO applications only. Hope they don't change to that policy until they've cleared the panels they currently have. 😧
