I decided to start a thread to this year. (I couldn't find one).

Official names will be confirmed in the next few weeks.( Time flies).

Names I've heard so far are

Ellie Leach who played Faye Windass in Coronation Street.

Adam Thomas who played Adam Barton in Emmerdale.

Angela Scanlon and Angela Rippon are two names I have read, elsewhere.

I think Adam Thomas regularly touts his own name as being a participant. Maybe it will happen for him this year 😀

Ellie Leach has been confirmed alright afaik.

The EE participant has been announced.

'Jade Goody's son Bobby Brazier is the latest star to sign up for SCD. The 20-year-old model and actor - who plays Freddie Slater in Eastenders - will take to the dancefloor for the BBC ballroom contest later this year.

Annabel is a former British Number One tennis player who at 15 years old was the youngest British player to compete at Wimbledon for 95 years.

She also represented Great Britain in prestigious Wightman and Federation Cup competitions, and continues to play an integral role in the coverage of Wimbledon each year and has done for many years.

He has been in showbiz for over 50 years, including famously hosting Family Fortunes for 16 years.

Les Dennis started his career as a comedian on the Working Men’s Club circuit. He got his big break on TV Talent show New Faces, and went on to star in sketch and variety show The Laughter Show.

I missed the group dance because we switched over to the rugby. So didn't get to see any of the contestants dance. With that in mind:-

I like Gio's partner, I'd say she'll get stuck in.

I'm really looking forward to this season, but the opening show is always a bit boring. I think you can really notice the loss of several of the familiar professionals now. The new ones don't seem to have filled the personality gap.

I don't love or hate any of the celebs in advance this year, so I'm open to supporting anyone entertaining. It was difficult to garner much from the group dance, but I thought Zara, Nikita, Anabelle, Amanda, Layton, and Eddie looked decent. Nobody stuck out as a joke contestant that I noticed. Bobby has great natural rhythm and stood out as great when dancing on his own, but looked really awkward in hold. Angela Scanlon looked very stiff. Ellie looked very clunky. Krishnan has natural rhythm but no style.

Same here, so happy it's back, I needed a bit of sparkle so I was looking forward to it.

I agree with all of the above. I remember Nigel from his time in Eastenders too, I hope he does really well. I may have to start watching Casualty, 😁

I knew the pairings but it's still good seeing them together for the first time. Looking forward to seeing their first competitive dance now.
