This actually happened apprently during a Charlie Kirk interview in January of this year but because Ron is such a pissant this is the first I am hearing of it via @politvidchannel on r/WhitePeopleTwitter and it was swept up I guess in the contemporary topics of ballot harvesting and zuckerbucks.

But just by itself, I've been reading about this guy for years, since he ran for Governor at least, and even the force feeding of prisoners allegations (that's a whole other thing) and the Disney/DeSantis 'war' he is waging on some **** "political battlefield" according to his memoir -- but I have never heard a more poignant, single soundbyte from Ron DeSantis, stated or in writing, that so epically sums up, pretty much but not everything the shyte is. Just a race to the bottom thinker with no mind for any higher calling or integrity.

He might have no chance against the Donald in the primary (TBDizzles) but given the sheer **** hubris and corrupt tendencies of DeSantis, and the fact that he has at least a parting shot at becoming the World's **** American Problem, I think it's time to give him his own tab. And I for one... I think he's a c6nt. Please discuss.

He first appeared on my radar when he was only letting Fox in to some law signing and was complaining about MSM.

The Don't Say Gay law is a concern and its further expansion even more so.

He appears to be very thin-skinned on the basis of his war against Disney but he had to eat some humble pie when there was a hurricane and he needed federal funding.

He seems to be posturing as Trump but I fear he might be somewhat smarter. He doesn't seem as bombastic and as much of a firebrand (from what I've seen) yet he trots out a lot of the same tropes. I don't know why he doesn't seem to be getting as much traction on a national level, maybe that'll change when Trump's no longer around.

Think it's a bad move on DeSantis part to run in '24 against Trump. Trump's greatest skill is his ability to humiliate others, and considering DeSantis is a worthy opponent who seems to appeal quite a lot to the Republican base, Trump will aim to embarrass him as much as possible, as he certainly won't want it to get into a debate on politics. It will be very similar to Ted Cruz in 2016.

Saying that I strongly dislike DeSantis so am pretty happy it's happening.

Props to him confidently using executive power in such a way that won't be sure to disaffect him from swaths of his own voters and rile up the opposing base in the next election. It will be interesting to see, based on the above, how Ron would wield executive power against his next opponent, whomever that may yet be.

The term "woke" has lost all meaning, it has morphed from a credible and valid term within the African American community, to being coopted mainly by middle class white progressives, to now a term of abuse from the right. In short it has become a nonsense word.

As always, an example to highlight the situation we now find ourselves in. Some California high schools are now cutting honors classes to promote racial equity. The argument is that certain ethnic groups are less represented in honors classes, so the answer is to eliminate honors classes for all. Instead of trying to help a minority of children, let's hurt all of them. In a country which spends far more per capita on public education, yet now ranks outside the top 10 in science and math globally, with China, India and other Asian countries occupying half of the top 10.

If you examine the issue a little closer, it is minorities in the US that benefit most from honors classes. Asian Americans do significenly better than all others demographics in terms of academic performance, including college placement. This is particularly true in STEM subjects where Indian Americans, Chinese Americans, Filipino Americans, etc. outperform everyone else.

We live in a competitive world where increasingly graduates, especially with the evolution of AI, will be going head to head against their equivalents from Asia and elsewhere. Does it really make sense to put obstacles to success in the way of children?

DeSantisis is broadly right on these issues, while wrong on other issues.

But unfortunately the age-old nonsense of, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", means that many people will support this nonsense because, for them, if DeSantis is against it, then they feel obliged and mandated to support it.
