The standard set by the big 3 is extremely high, people already anointing Alcaraz as the future GOAT need to calm down a little. Last year some were blowing up Medvedev as a multiple slam winner and the player most likely to dominate the next 2/3 years, but, he's had a poor year since for various reasons, some completely out of his control. Alcaraz does look like he'll win multiple slams, but, give him time and see where he is in 5/6 years time.

I've said it before a player might come along in a weak era and break all the records of the big 3, but, that won't necessarily mean they are better than the big 3, part of what makes the big 3 so great is the rivalry between them, and the level they had to maintain to win, if Alcaraz or another player come along and dominate, but, have no real rivals it will diminish their achievements in comparison to the big 3 era.

    Eh?

Granted, I haven't seen enough of him, but not seeing the Nole/Fed/Nadal type game/character yet! Ok, he is only 19.....

Obviously no way of knowing how a career will pan out (injuries etc), but difficult to see how she won't end up with at least 5 or 6. Her and Osaka could be having some rivalry right now if Osaka cared enough about tennis.

No I think unlike Raducanu and a few others he is the real deal and won’t have that happen.

And speaking of Emma Raducanu she’s dropped to no83 in the world which as she said herself will hopefully take the target off her back a bit. While it was a great story and she'll always have that win, but maybe she can start over and build her way back up the rankings in a normal way.

wow thats some statement,3 x 5 setters in previous rounds suggest he is not winning easily .I presume your statement is based on the fact he is only young and can only improve with time, that hasnt really happened for Dimitrov,Zverev or Tsitspas and many others.I hope you are wrong as the uncertainty around the competition for me is a plus and makes early rounds more enjoyable,
