There are as many trolls here as there are outraged lefty liberals. You can give it but you cant take it.............. I can take all your criticism of my views but you cant take any alternate views you have palpitations and outrage to the point of looking ridiculous and not making any sense. There is a huge population in ireland that are adverse to the changes in our country & culture, mark my words. You can marry anyone you like but remember the more you dilute your heritage the more you are depriving your off spring of their heritage.

Any half decent D&I programme will SAVE money, bringing in additional markets and widening the base of potential employees.

But feel free to boycott every phone company, every bank, every car company if you like.

Ah it all makes sense now! When you say you don’t want to dilute your heritage, you mean ‘keep it in the family’!

Got ya, explains a LOT! How very ‘Regal’ of ya! 😉

Why are Asian people so blatantly ignored in Irish media? It's really jarring when you consider the massive contribution they make to Irish society.

Boardsies have always recognised that the Chinese are a great bunch of lads.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Its because they do so well. In the States they are grouped with whites in stats because otherwise they'd pull up the other minorities in results, school/wages/whatever. They do so well they interfere with the narritive being preached.

First they came for the socialists...

Key facts about Asian origin groups in the U.S.

Asian Americans are the fastest-growing major racial or ethnic group in the United States. More than 22 million Asians live in the U.S., and almost all trace their roots to specific countries or populations from East and Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.

The largest Asian origin groups in the U.S. differ significantly by income, education and other characteristics. These differences highlight the wide diversity of the nation’s Asian population and provide a counterpoint to the “model minority” myth and the description of the population as monolithic. Highlighting these differences within the Asian population has been central to debates about how data about the group should be collected by governmentscolleges and universities and other organizations, and how it can be used to shape policies impacting the diverse U.S. Asian population.

Indeed what would we ever do without that Friday night takeaway

Probably makes things very easy for the ad company.

    Customers looks for ad.

Produce some diversity highlighting, virtue signalling tripe of an ad.

Customer cant really say the ad is shite so coughs up the dough. Job done.

If you pass on those attitudes she just might well marry an Irish lad, or maybe bump into an Italian or Indian at university if you leave her out of your sight long enough.

As she is an only child - who would you leave everything to if she doesn't follow your commands?

I can just see some poor bastard ringing an ad agency...

Hi, I'd like to get an ad made for my company.

That's what we do sir. We'll make a fantastic ad for you.

Brilliant. Can it be done by the start of next week?

Absolutely sir, no problems there at all. By the way, would you like to avail of any of our woke upgrades at all? There are three levels of woke additions we offer with various levels of BAM, LGBTQ themes. These will increase the base price level of the advert though.

Ah no, just a standard advert will do fine.

That's no problem at all sir and may I just say on a personal level, that is a very, very courageous decision.

    Wha?

If only there was some way that people could make purchasing decisions without being forced to say in public their reasons for purchase or otherwise, eh?

No-one is ever forced to 'cough up the dough' but you might find it hard to find companies to choose not to reflect the diversity of their likely company base in their advertising.

These adverts don't reflect reality but increasingly over the past couple of years MSM is intent on reality being replaced by agenda.

It seems that opinions now trump fact so just sit down and nod agreeingly.

id say she will follow, her education is a private boarding school, all girls and i am not sure i will send her to University as they are also destroyed with the agenda. I may direct her to get a trade of sorts so she can earn a living. I find a lot of the uni grads are very indoctrinated these days and not terribly bright after all that money is spent on them doing under grad post grad Phd ( piled higher & deeper)& doctorates. They come out all sounding the same and chasing the same causes almost like a cult i would prefer her to work.

Here's a mad idea - support her to start making her own decisions and stop treating her like a baby.

You know it's not compulsory to enter a mixed race marriage just because you watched a Vodafone ad, right?

Because by and large they do alright and just get on with things. They’re generally not interested in using the “minority” tag as a crutch

    Mod note

Mary 2021 do not post in this thread again

wow i read through this whole discussion & my feeling is its good to see all types of actors getting jobs on ads no one has to follow the story. We chose whom we date and love if we are lucky, not the TV ads, they are just selling **** to us and its up to us to support them or not .

As is par for the course here on Boards, this thread has brought out the racists and bigots from the woodwork. You know who you are.

Lots of the "I'm not a racist, sure I have black/Asian/non-white friends BUT.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,154 ✭✭✭SafeSurfer

No the real racism doesn’t come from people who realise an agenda is being pushed by people who preach one thing yet practice another.

The example of the actual diversity of the Irish Times management and staff compared to their stance on diversity.

Multo autem ad rem magis pertinet quallis tibi vide aris quam allis

Some people on the thread have taken a very close interest in this subject. And should be familiar with every advertisement featuring non white actors. A list of these would be useful, to see whether the perception matches the reality. I know there a few mentioned in the thread already, but how many of these ads exist?

The total would have to be compared to all the advertising out there, to see if they are over represented by much.

The two mentioned in the OP are Bank of Ireland, and Vodafone. The only other one I remember is the gas one.

    Any more for a list?
