I submitted mine on the 2nd and the statement of liability came through this morning

I have nothing but my PAYE income so maybe straight forward cases get processed quicker

Got an email from Revenue to say I had new correspondence on my account, which was the statement of liability

Edit: I did my parents minutes after my own, their one hasn't come through, they have a mix of PAYE and social welfare income

I was on the PUP for about 8 weeks earlier this year, in the non PAYE income section there is a box showing €0.00 for this payment but obviously it would have been closer to 3k, I can’t change it, any ideas?

You’ll enter that when you do your income tax return, I had same issue with my wife’s maternity and parents leave pay, added them then on the return

Today my statement of liability is there in my account, despite I didn't receive an email notification yet. Worth checking.

Checked mine. It’s there and I didn’t get a email either. Completed my return on the 2nd

    Nothing there yet for me.

Sol received, tax return done on the 1st. Refund on its way.

Previous posts saying middle of the month at the earliest, were wide of the mark.

It depends on your return. Looks to me that mine is more complicated with my wife having been on maternity and Parents leave along with her switching jobs, will slow it down a bit I suppose! Going by my preliminary statement I’ve over €5,500 owing to me but that’s inflated because the wife’s maternity and parents leave wasn’t declared until I did the income tax return after. It’ll take a few extra days I’d assume to get the right figure.

Submitted mine on the 2nd, amended a mistake on the 3rd and received it today (normal tax return + health expenses and WFH credit). I have every receipt uploaded religiously for the previous year, took some time to do but worth it in the long run.

Obviously some are more complicated, but there was a post earlier stating that it would be mid January at the earliest before any were processed. So a nice surprise to get it on the 5th.

Have to agree regarding uploading receipts. Was very annoying but worth it.

Do you have to upload receipts? I thought it was optional? I never had to any other year. I have them on file if audited. Did mine 2nd Jan and still waiting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭advertsfox

Technically optional but its good for speed and it provides the calculations automatically when submitting your tax return. I have mine all saved locally too going back years but some of these will get flagged for manual review so I thought I'd remove that chance by submitting them (esp. for the WFH home credit, about €2000 in receipts for that alone).

    Got mine this morning .

If you already got your SOL and are due a payment from thatvbut you left out a medical expense which you are owed for. Can you resubmit your SOL with that medical expense in order to get the payment for that expense? Do you get an updated SOL with an additional payment?

I'm due a repayment but left out on expense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭advertsfox

Yes it will be done based on the data you already submit (so if you get €200 back on SOL 1, your SOL 2 will start at €0 owed). If it's only a small expense (since you only get 20% back), you can leave it until next year.

Input my details on the 2nd. Logged in this morning and the SOL was there. A couple of hours later I got the email. Pretty regular one I guess, tax paid had pretty much balanced out bar a few cent, and then I added medical and WFH expenses. Going by last year it then took about 3 business days to hit my bank account.

Can somebody please explain the WFH expenses ?

Got mine this morning too, €50 coming my way for the 'remote working credit'...not bad, not awful. wish it were more!

Got email this morning from Revenue, SOL issued yesterday, filed 02/01. Some very welcome funds while waiting for January payday!

I don't think you can claim WFH or Medical Expenses without showing receipts. It wouldn't let me unless I had a receipt uploaded and I can't submit a receipt without an image of the receipt

10% of light/heat and 30% of broadband costs, for the number of days you worked from home in 2021 (and 2020 if you havent submitted that).

Add up your bills, multiply by the 10%/30% rate, then divide by 365 and multiply by days worked from home. Submit that figure.

Unless your employer paid you €3.20 WFH daily allowance.

I claimed tax back for my PRSA AVC's yesterday for 2020 (waiting on a final PRSA cert for 2021 to submit that year), was astonished to see its already processed and new tax cert online today. They must be automating some systems.

For people whose PUP isn't showing, does anyone know the best way to get this sorted? Is there a contact section in the mywelfare account website or it a phonecall/email situation?

For anyone trying to add PUP payments to their tax return if you get a statement of payments for the year from MyWelfare.ie revenue can accept that according to DEASP. I submitted my tax return as it was and then uploaded the statement through My Enquiries explaining I couldn’t edit the figure so was disclosing it that way.

I know it says on the form to contact DEASP and normally they then relay info directly to Revenue but DEASP just said to get the statement and use that.

I submitted my return on 1st Jan so will let you know when I get my SOL for a rough timeframe.
