A few days of calm in this day n age? Not a chance without they’ll rail against that too looking to denounce it as something more sinister. You bow to this madness you’re worse, just pull the plug on the tweeter machine be done with it

It must be a median weather curve outlier (they have phrases for everything these days).

Seeing as it's RTE maybe there's an "explainer" to click on.

Cap peaks to the back everybody.

    Maybe I'm a "this isn't nonsense" denier !!!

RTE virtue signalling again, shock horror.

There's no way a reporter, a pillar of the community, would misquote something. Could never happen. Bastion of honor and truth, them reporters.

Imagine the amount of calls of complaint they received for them to backtrack like this.

    These lefties are militant.

Are they going to include heavy rain in July as climate change also? Code red cloud cover perhaps.

surprise surprise, a few hot days, in the summer mind you and its down to climate change, we really are starved of the sun in this country if we think like that after a run of a few days with it.

    Quote from the article:

"Following criticism over the lack of coverage on the climate crisis as Ireland basked in a rare heatwave where temperatures reached 30C, Jon Williams took to Twitter this evening to apologise."

that's a meaningless statement; it possibly implies - but does not state - a causal link between ireland's heatwave and his statement, but says nothing about his actual statement. you cannot blame him for whatever lazy phrasing the journalist used.

i'd say here it's the indo which you should be criticising, rather than him, assuming you copied the original headline verbatim into the thread title.

if you yourself changed it, the fault is yours. you must have wilfully read into it what you wanted to read into ti.

Mate, I put the title on the thread. I know boards is dying a fast death for various reasons, some due to overly fussy moderators, but I wasn't aware that a thread referring to a news article in After Hours had to have the same headline as the linked article.

Did you even read the article he posted? Clearly not. He explicitly references the recent extreme weather events in Canada, the US, and Germany. Where did you get the notion this has anything to do with Ireland's recent warm spell? Virtue signalling indeed! 🙄

Did you even read the article quoted in the op??
