I think this will be the end of many restaurants. The run up to Christmas is the busiest time of year for them and when most make their money which carries them for the rest of the year. As you rightly said packing people in to eat is the only way they make money. Christmas is a right off again for them this year. Even more staff will move out of the hospitality trade - its a disaster.

I've done my bit, didn't see family and grandchildren for months, took the vaccines and the extra shot! I've done what I can to protect myself and others around me. No one is going to tell me how many I can have in my home this year.

I feel so sorry for young people, will they grow up and wonder why we allowed ourselves to be beaten down by bullies, and yes, I consider the whole lot of them bullies at this stage, and I don't see any of the politicians with enough backbone to question them. I don't trust a single one of them. I fear for the future.

He did , he also said 2 days before subsidised antigen tests abandoned that they needed more time to decide as it was very complex. Getting through 24hrs is complex for this fool.

The only way we can get rid of them is by protesting. And by protesting I mean a serious protest - hundreds of thousands on the streets and stay there until they engage with actual people - it worked a few weeks ago for the truckers.

Email your local Tds - tell them you and your family wont vote for them in the next election - thats all they care about.

But if you dont agree with these restrictions - let the idiots in charge know. Dont keep your mouth shut. If theres a protest - join it.

They work for us - we dont have to listen to condescending speeches from a leader that is absolutely useless , has no spine and cant even speak in public properly. We need to make it clear that we dont want unelected people giving interviews about upcoming restrictions - NPHET should be banned from social media and all their members.

If I were Taoiseach, I would have ignored Tony Holohan, disbanded NPHET - and let the virus rip through a vaccinated population before Omicron could even have a chance of having any effect.
