So is this the reason NPHET want to keep restrictions and the rest of Europe are wrong ?

I've already said this but as of today 8 (soon to be 9) people out of 10 you meet in a pub are vaccinated. Are we seriously blaming that 1 person that, I'm sure, is the vector of all the grief affecting our world... give me a break

If the infection is happening in private gatherings then it doesn't happen in the pub or public places considering also the restrictions around green pass and so on, by reading here it looks like the unvaxxed are walking nuclear reactors spreading radioactivity to the poor law abiding citizen.

I know, loads of people spreading the sniffles and a cough. Must lockdown harder

Indeed. They've lied about travel related percentages, theyve lied about the percent caught in pubs, why wouldn't they lie on daily figures?

Last winter, pretty much every week three or four of the hundreds on the site I was working on would test positive. We currently have three or four times more people per day testing positive than before Christmas yet in my workplaces Ive seen outbreaks only twice in 2020- May (which I caught myself) and two weeks ago.

I know that's purely anecdotal but it makes you think. If it's so endemic why do I know so few people who have caught it this summer yet when the rate was a third of the current rate in October to December of 2020I knew plenty?

Where do you reckon the 2,000+ cases today came from?

Did conspiracy theorists say that we would need more and more jabs for the passports? If they did, I missed it.

He should be in prison? That's a bit harsh. He's not a great leader and he's made some poor decisions...but prison?! Nah.

You think everyone will need a vaccine passport to enter a shop for food? For going outside? Jesus. That's some paranoid thinking.

Your 'a', 'b' and 'c' thing...I'll give you 'a'. The 'b'...I'm under 60 but we haven't met. I don't think it's an agenda to get rid of cash, bump up house prices or anything else you've stated. The 'c' - what's controlling or subservient about wearing a mask? If you think that's what it's about and you're totally against it, why are you only thinking of ditching it now? What's taken so long? You've been controlled and subservient for ages if that's the case.

RTE tend to scare people about the virus not lockdowns. Lockdowns are usually presented as a positive thing in terms of combating the virus.

Sorry if this has been discussed before ...a relation of mine was deemed a close contact to a covid case and was told work away, no movement restrictions for you because they are fully vaccinated ...is it just me or is this crazy with the latest research on transmission

Well you already need a vaccine pass to go into a supermarket in France so it's not that crazy a thought.

That’s not really correct though. If you are a vaccinated close contact they still advise you to stay home until you get a test, if that test comes back negative you go on as normal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 479 ✭✭P.lane78

    From the HSE website

    If you are fully vaccinated

You do not need to restrict your movements or get a test if you are fully vaccinated, as long as you do not have symptoms of COVID-19.

Why post fake news like this? Other people reading this thread might actually believe it.

"the government was careful to exclude supermarkets. This means that French citizens who have not been vaccinated and haven’t got a negative test, will still be able to shop for food."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,682 ✭✭✭Penfailed

That's not true...but keep on spreading the misinformation. There might be some suckers out there that believe you.

Apologies if I am incorrect but I've seen several videos and protests outside French Supermarkets this weekend where they are refused entry without their green pass.

Ah! Normanoffside read this ^^^ and possibly thanked it along with 12 others without checking the facts. He then repeated the falsehood believing it to be true. That's how shíte and nonsense gets spread around the internet.

So to clear this up there is no need of a vaccine pass to go into a supermarket in France?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,985 ✭✭✭growleaves

It applies to large shopping malls - and the supermarkets within them, by default - but not to all supermakets.

Easy mistake to make don't worry about it.

So you think it's ok that you can't go into shopping centres (and supermarkets therein) Unless you have a vaccine pass?

    OK Then...
