Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think some of those being silky flags sways me differently to if they weren't :D They have lovely dimension and shading :pac:

Niigata - in a turn up for the books, I'm voting for a red and yellow flag, I love the circle formed of the two thin lines with symbol in line. Elegant
Shizuoka - in a second turn up for the books, I'm voting for a flag with orange on it. I love the shade of blue and the white used to isolate the the colours. I also think it looks like dolphin meets volcano :pac:
Aomori - a nice shade of green, but the langered leggy E that fell on it's back and couldn't get back up isn't as compelling as the imagery on the competition

Just make sure to give all three in order of preference.

So Niigata first I take it? What have you got in at 2 and 3?

I think I am in the 'say what you see' frame of mind after the MS Paint reveal tonight ... sometimes I just see abstract symbols but there is definitely some interesting shapes in these :D Glad if you get a giggle :)

Aomori it's the one on the north tip of the main island. Symbol on the flag is a map of the prefecture.

Ah man, now I feel like it deserves to get through, that is a really clever way to make a flag! (I still stand by my assertion that the letter E was having a day off from Sesame Street, got sh*t faced, and fell on it's back with an injured swollen foot) ;)

Ibaraki is like a walnut whip. I don't like walnut whips, but I do like Robbie Keane's goal v Germany.

    So those silly reasons balance out - I hope there's a tie-break! :) - and it's

Ibaraki - she sells sea shell on the sea shore... I love spirals :) and it's blue
Kagawa - Australian gov seeks injunction to prevent imitation of Sydney opera house, Japanese required to cease construction half way through second section. That said lovely simple easy on the eye curves, and lovely shade of green
Yamagata - Native American tourist campsite next left (lovely shade of blue just less interesting imagery for me)

    1. Ibaraki symbolising the rosebud lovely

    2. Yamagata get that others hate it but find it soothing

    3. Kagawa green is nice but don't love the symbol.

    2) Fukui - Nice aesthetic here. Very fluid and cool.
    3) Tokyo - too purple for its own good

    1. Fukui - i like a symmetrical flag and a classic colour combination
    2. Nara - only ok
    3. Tokyo - no primary colour - a negativee for me :-(

I also think this is a not so good 2D image of a square peg round hole piece of engineering :D
    2. Tokyo - ships wheel, with the purple I vote pirate ship
    3. Fukui - I feel like the Toyota factory must be near by ;)

    1. Tokyo
    2. Nara
    3. Fukai

Nice shade of purple on Tokyo, symbol could well be an old ships wheel. Nara could be either a spanner going to tighten/loosen a very odd nut or some Star Wars Millenium Falcon vs Death Star abstract art. I like it.

Had to nip away for a bit but what for what I would have picked for the last three rounds, my three number 1's and two of the 2s got through anyway :)

    Okinawa - pleasingly asymmetrical
Hiroshima - reminds me too much of the Tunisian flag
