Nope. You made the claim you were going to be balanced.

Your post was a bunch of hearsay, falsehoods, name calling and ranting and raving.

I've nothing against any of that, a good rant and rave is good for the soul.

The bit I had issue with again, was the false claim of "balance".

But it would appear with things reopening and vaccinations going in at pace, certain posters are more interested in discussing other posters than the actual reasons for the thread existing.

    I'll leave ye at it.

Can you please point out where I called anyone "names" or participated in "hearsay?"

    For the sake of balance...

You have the media, constantly fear mongering. That's in their nature as I can't remember the last time they reported the truth...

You have The WHO talking up more restrictions and beating people's morale to a pulp...

You have NPHET whose modeller isn't even qualified or experienced to do the job, a lot of their predictions have been all over the shop and their wording and way of communication has been belittling and patronising at times... And Tony Holohan trying to be a celebrity (Not going to mention how his past exploits leave some people sickened... Oh wait..)

You have a Government here, with a Tainiste who can't hold his piss, a minister who they send off to fix bikes when something important is going on, a Taoiseach who was part of a party that ruined the country and who played a part in it. A Government who have been very hesitant in creating a road map out of this, who have forgotten various important social, cultural and economic aspects during all of this and who have made a shambles out of most other things non Covid related...

You have McConkey and that tit Ryan coming out with all sorts of unethical bull**** that would see any Doctor get the sack

And as that Boggles dude said, you have YT videos of people, spouting information. I'm not getting into whether it's right or wrong, I don't know but, it's information overload...

So with that being said, this is how a lot of people see it and it creates serious worry, anger, anxiety, fear and pessimism within those people. I read some posts in response and it's seemingly a serious lack of understanding towards that and it's creating a bit of nasty atmosphere here.

But anyways, it's Friday. Happy days!

As far as I can see, it's all fact.

I even agreed with you on one point and then you go and say, "only thing I agree about your post is that it's Friday"
So, in turn, you're disagreeing with yourself?

    Classic Boggles :D

This is pathetic, you'd expect more of a mod....

Not sure why you think being a mod is relevant. It's not unreasonable to ask someone to backup their claims.

Anyway, as that's obviously not going to happen I'll pop back in again when there's news on the easing of restrictions.

This is pathetic, you'd expect more of a mod....You essentially want me to name all the people who I think support the governments actions...just because I referenced the cohort on here who clearly support the government actions. There's a gang of ye trying to force me into naming those names...over the last few pages....all trying to out do each other and clap each other on the back while doing so...pathetic.

So in your original and subsequent comments- you attack some unamed "cohort" in an attempt at ridicule and you're surprised that posters ask you back up your accusations?

You're correct that is 'pathetic". I'll leave you at it.

You are asking me to name names.

That is a pathetic attempt to undermine me, despite it being obvious that posters on here support the governments actions....the majority of us fall into one of two camps, those that agree with the restrictions/lock downs/government actions and those of us that don't!!! There are very few regular posters who fall in between.

But keep on going, all you are trying to do is provoke me into a reaction, I thought a mod would know better.

Maybe I have got this wrong, I have no idea who Ryan is, maybe "tit" is his Christian name?
You have NPHET whose modeller isn't even qualified or experienced to do the job

The above has to be hearsay, unless you know him personally and have worked with him?
You have the media, constantly fear mongering. That's in their nature as I can't remember the last time they reported the truth...

Also the above statement is never a good look is it?

I could on, but it's Friday.

    Ha...

You are aware that the media print what sells, regardless of whether it's true or not, right? Perhaps you need it dumbed down for you but, that wasn't meant in a Covid capacity, it was a general statement. Everyone knows that! I worked in the media. I know what I'm talking about. You would want to be a new born or completely absent minded to not know this

It's known Philip Nolan has no experience or qualifications in his modelling work with NPHET. His qualifications and prior experience are listed. Not my problem if you're too lazy to look it up.

OK, I'll apologise to Mr. Ryan for calling him a tit, once he apologises for broadcasting that Covid causes Autism to the foetus, whilst saying he has no data to back it up

Tries twisting what I say because he can't handle someone putting up a post that goes against his narrative and that calls out his own rubbish post from earlier this month...Classic Boggles :D

Think they smell weakness on this thread as earlier on there were a few strange conspiracies floating around, but that was a while ago now.

Strangely the main Covid thread has evolved into a much more balanced discussion, plenty of rants and raves against government etc. still, but without the dogmatic shutdown of conversation evident here.

Seems some are on a mission to prevent an ‘echo chamber’. Lots of good information and analysis in this thread along the way - and some dubious links too, but it’s become a bit pointless as if anyone presents a case for being disappointed or angry with any authority it’s immediately refuted in an aggressive or disingenuous way.

It’s too much hard work to argue when logic is absent - but then maybe that’s the point.

So can we move on from this pathetic attempt to undermine me...it's ridiculous.

Apart from trying to impress your cohort what point are you trying to make.

Just because I point out that a new variant has been or will be used to scare monger us, doesn't mean I am scare mongering!

And how right you are , tony on cue as expected. Just can't let go of control. The variant that the vaccines work on.... My god

Known by whom? Again that is hearsay.

But, why would someone with no experience or qualifications be made chair of the IEMAG?

I think it was the people who themselves thought they might be included in the '"unamed" cohort' that started demanding that the un-named cohort to be named, so it became superfluous.

Personally I don`t feel it`s anything to do with the " smell of weakness".
If anything it smells like desperation that with vaccines working and a plan for staged opening up that those opposed to lockdown, or any restrictions, will have less and less to moan about.

That and the moronic "we should open up like such and such" for no given viable reason other than "just because they are" is getting very old and tiresome.

So let me get this straight. Those engaged in name calling of those who they accuse of amongst other things - all having a hive mind - are asked in return to whom they are referring to - but by doing so their question becomes "superfluous"?

OK its certainly not logic - in fact its not even basic comprehension. But no matter. I think we've seen that's fairly common place tbf.

To the people that are pro pro pro restrictions , don't you see that the above is a never ending cycle ?

They can always go on about "new variants" even when 100% of country / europe/world is vaccinated.

And there will always be new variants, that;s what endemic viruses do.

Drunk on power and loving it? Tony Houlihan praying for vaccines that don't work?? Dear god, I've seen it all now.

Just to counter this with actual reality, I know I won't be thanked by some.
    No more weekly NPHET meetings.

"NPHET doesn't need to meet every week anymore."

Dr Tony Holohan says the COVID19 situation has improved to such a degree that a weekly meeting isn't needed

Also no deviation from reopening plan.

    Bloody control freak.

Houlihan showed his true colours today instead of the positive that the who and other sources are saying the vaccines work on the variant he has to find someway to produce a negative. Scandalous stuff yet again from nphet and the media. Scaremongering bull again

Why mention a black cloud in the horizon about a variant that vaccines work on ????

    Did you read the article....

But the variant may nevertheless pose a risk to the progress we have made. Nphet will keep a close eye on this as we move towards the end of May and consider the advice we need to provide to Government on any further easing of restrictions.

    Control freak he is

Because it's an honest factual answer to the question he was asked I imagine, "the variant" may be a risk for the ones not vaccinated, it's exactly the same statement from public health England, who are set to release more data on it.

Amazing you would focus (misrepresent) on that and not the overwhelming positivity from the briefing, even more amazing you would label people Scaremongering whilst grossly indulging in that very act.

They released more data in the uk on it yesterday stating that the vaccines work on it and it is not as transmissible as they thought... Keep up with news .
Also do the other variants not pose a risk to those not vaccinated ?

Amazing Tony focused (misrepresent) on a variant that vaccines work on and mentioned dark clouds and some other bull to keep us all inline.

    You mentioned control freak first:rolleyes:
