Does anyone know when they will be taking appointments again to get a PSC card? Not sure it’s the correct thread to post but it does come under ‘level 5’ restrictions.

You have been on here pushing the Great Barrington Declaration and John Ioannidis`s theories on natural herd immunity as science, when simple mathematics on Ioannidis`s own study shows it for the complete load of groundless nonsense it is.

Fortunately the point is pretty much completely, utterly and totally irrelevant.

    We haven't taken that route.

We're not going to take that route.

The GBD proponents can spout on about it forever, it's going to change nothing. It's not going to happen. ;)

Ya, living with Covid can't be entertained...that'll be of some comfort to the 900,00 plus on waiting lists....at least they won't catch Covid...unless they end up in hospital of course!!!

You have proven yourself to be disingenuous time and time again, I blame myself for entertaining you....

    So that`s a no then.

Even when your own highlighted advocate of natural herd immunity, with all the easy answers, has been shown as a far from honest broker you still refuse to see the nonsense for what it is,.... yet somehow I`m the one who is being disingenuous.

I assume you either quoted the wrong post or completely misread mine.

Either way I don't see how your natural her immunity theory is relevant to the relaxation of restrictions here.

For a start I don't have any theory...I'm a punter on an online forum just like you.

Secondly, I have not or ever suggested natural herd immunity...feel free to continue misrepresenting what I said...you aren't on your own.

Just to be sure I'm not misrepresenting your theories..

it is a deranged policy to think a Government can control an invisible pathogen that we seem to know very little about, in immune systems that we still don't fully understand.

Restricting movement/contact and vaccinations are working out ok.
Anybody, be it is State Governor or a leading expert or a European Government who deviates from hard lock downs gets vilified...the only way out of this is a mass vaccination program...with vaccines that didn't exist before we were all put into lock down

We definitely should have had the vaccines before the virus was discovered. Think of the benefits
I am interested in this hypothesis that reducing interactions between people won’t reduce spread of a virus that is transmitted by interaction between people. Where can I donate?
Well it was the accepted science until late 2019.

Prior to 2019 we didn't understand that a virus can be transmitted between people?

    The midfield is compromised

Someone broke in at half time and damaged our midfielders

    Agreed, your theories are baffling.

    Anyway, back to the restrictions.

Vaccinations progressing at a healthy (and increasing rate).

    All retail open from Monday.

Hit the showers George, needs to be benched permanently. It was hilarious watching him regurgitating him word for word Paul Reid's bollocks football analogy. Entitled spoofers without any self-awareness how ridiculous they look.

I thought George Lee was an economist? Yet RTÉ have him as 'science correspondent'. Like saying I'm a doctor, yet I've zero medical knowledge or expertise.

Did i imagine it, or are gyms opening on the 7th of June?

The public are being scolded like children with "monkey see, monkey do" pontificating. NPHET seem to believe they're in charge, all that power granted to them by the government is bringing out the latent tyrant within:

I see no scolding just that usual abundance of caution on how people might read the results of such tests. They do support their use with a qualified personnel and in certain locations as an addition to PCR.

Fun fact economics is regarded as a science.

Fergal Bowers is the Health Correspondent, he is neither a scientist nor a doctor, he is a journalist with experience in medical journalism.

I’ve just watched the U.K. press conference. It seems they’re going to try and break the chains of transmission by vaccinating high numbers where the Indian variant is spreading. They’re also continuing with reopening on Monday. US have also announced they’re dropping mask wearing for fully vaccinated people. So all in all, it seems if vaccination numbers are high, the Indian variant won’t get a chance to cause too many issues. EU need to continue their programme as quickly as possible.

Johnson has stated that the Indian Variant could cause major disruptions to further reopening in June.

Oh that's music to the pro lockdown peoples ears

Lets hope it wont cause much damage, as was said here earlier The money tree is running out and it will be hard to justify longer lockdowns with so little money

We`ll just have to wait and see
U.K. have 4 tests that must be met before they move from one phase of reopening to the next.

In this instance the relevant 2 would be,
Infection rates do not risk a surge in hospitalisations.
    and
The assessment of risk is not fundamentally changed by new variants of concern.

If it is a lot more transmissible.

His scientists think it could be a bit more transmissible.

How big that bit is they don't know.

No evidence it causes severe disease in those all ready vaccinated.

All though they have reported the first deaths from the variant, no details given.

Incidence rate still continues to decrease.

It's amazing the change in Boris since he started listening to his scientists.

Even if it is more transmissible unless hospitalisations and I.C.U. numbers go up sharply I would not see it being a huge problem. Especially with incidence rates still decreasing and vaccination levels increasing

Catching this virus does appear to have Boris listening to the scientists rather than the readers of mystic charts and entrails now.

It's an odd one, even from after he got the virus to now is night and day.

Someone got a hold of him or presented him with some data that set him straight.

Hope they don't know something the fúcking rest of us don't.

I doubt even you believe that.

Pretty much everyone would much rather case numbers remain low so restrictions can continue to be relaxed.

I heard Reid say today that finally case numbers and the impact of the pandemic are decoupled

Giz a list of these "pro lockdown people"

    10-12 will do.
