Jesus, delete this before Venjur turns up outside your home.

Ah that's not gonna happen. The man gets vertigo if he goes farther from Dublin than the red cow!

An completely different XV Leinster could field (everyone fit) which shows just how good the depth is

    12-Frawley
    11-Lowe
    10-Sexton
    9-JGP
    1-Byrne
    2-Cronin
    3-Furlong
    4-Baird
    5-Ryan
    6-Leavy
    7-Connors
    8-Doris

It's ridiculous really. This doesn't even include Dooley, Sheehan, Tracy, Molony, Murphy, Penny, Deegan or Harry B

    Or international prop Michael Bent

My friend met a guy 7 years ago this weekend at a Leinster Munster match in the Aviva. I’ll spare you the details of how it happened but I was in my season ticket seats in the Aviva and bought 3 seats behind for my friend and her cousins.

7 years, 3 kids later, they’re married and loving life.

She is from Cork, he is from Dublin, it is a proper mixed marriage. I hadn’t seen her in a year because of COVID but I bumped into her in Tesco earlier.

Leinster won that night, with BOD scoring a try right in front of us. I was happy with the win, her less so, but I suppose she won in other ways that night.

Crazy how things happen, and even more crazy to see her today!

    Cmon Leinster.

They'd have to get Stringer in to play Drico.

Okay... fair warning to scroll on through. There’s very little rugby involved.

I lived in Cork for a few years and played rugby there. I met my friend there and we have been friends since. I moved back to Dublin in 2012 but obviously stayed in touch. There was always great rivalry between us, I suppose it came from the territory of being the only Dub in a squad of Corkonians.

I bought a Leinster season ticket when I moved back up, during the MOC era. The less said the better. Anyway, when the fixture was in March and in the Aviva my friend, her cousin and her cousins wife said they’d like to go to the game too. I went on to ticketmaster to get seats as close to mine as I could and got the 3 seats in front of our 3 tickets. Had a pint in Mary Macs before the game and argued over who would get what seats. I had a kid with me so the logic was that we would sit in front because my friend is tall.

My friend ended up sitting in the season ticket seats and beside the man who is now her husband. She was just out of a very long term relationship, so was he. His friends were egging him on but neither of them could pluck up the courage to ask the other out. Unbeknownst to her, I swapped numbers with one of the guys that was with him and texted him where we were so they could follow on afterwards.

He doesn’t drink so he ended up driving us home, or part of the way anyway. He invited us in for a tea because we were passing his house so we went in. Probably not the best move in hindsight, stranger danger etc, but we were young and foolish. His housemate/friend was there too, so I ended up chatting to the friend and eventually got a taxi home without her.

She arrived back in my house the next morning. They hadn’t even kissed. They sat up all night talking. That was the end of March. She is a teacher so finished up school the end of May and came to Dublin on a trial basis to see how it would work out, and she never left. They got married in 2016 in a massive 3 day affair, their first baby was born in 2018, and they now have 3 under 3!

Because of COVID and the fact that we both have very vulnerable people in our lives, we haven’t seen each other since last March. I hadn’t actually met their last baby! Seeing her today was great, albeit in the toiletries section of Tesco, where she chased after me calling my name. Crazy too that it is their 7th anniversary of meeting!

When I told someone in work the story they asked if I regretted swapping seats because I could have found love instead of her, but I genuinely think that there isn’t a more perfect couple.

Anyway, the game itself was a bit crap, with the exception of Drico and his try (IIRC it was the one he nearly missed because he went over the dead ball line and the TMO watched it lots of times). I had bragging rights that day with the game, but I suppose looking at the bigger picture she had a better outcome :pac:

I see today's Irish Independent rates each of the players and comes up with a total of 121 for Leinster and 112 for Munster. I was amazed that there was such a difference between the 2 teams. However, if you add up the individual ratings, you get 122 for Leinster to 121 for Munster. If you exclude the bench for both teams, Munster's starting 15 receive a rating of 115 to Leinster's 113. On paper then, there is very little between the teams

They should be expelled from the pro14 immediately for damaging Leinster's property 😀

I'm fluent in the auld mother tongue but my missus is sitting here with a face on because I cancelled Eir Sport at the end of the intro offer and now she'll have to hear an cluiche trí gaeilge.

    There'll be a row yet.

I've just brought the Echo in next to the tv and I'm gonna see how well the radio 1 commentary aligns with the picture

Excellent start from Leinster. One small concern would be how direct Leinster were once they got near Munster's line. Went very direct and didn't make any ground.

We played like that in the last game and Munster's defence stifled us for the most part.
