The difference here is that Porter didn't initiate the contact. He was stood still and Kleyn ran into him. If he had been going forward into the contact it would have been a red.

But Porter did try tackle. He attempted to wrap. So I don't think he can be described as passive

This looks like it will be a long day for munster.

Toland really does talk absolute manure.....

If he is standing still then he isn't tackling. He isnt actually in the act of tackling at any point. If its not a tackle then its not a high tackle.

Why did he wrap then? Was he just standing minding his own business giving the air a hug?

Sorry that's nonsense. He clearly tackled him and they bottled it.

Between Robson on one channel and Toland on the other seriously contemplating a mute watch.

I’d support my body weight better than De Allende was there.

At no point did DDA have the ball there. Hands on the ground the whole time.

Healy looks a fraction of the player he was. No power going into contact

He's definitely lost that aspect of his game, but defensively he is still excellent and I suspect he's one of the best loose head scrummagers in the Northern Hemisphere.

Keenan off feet was the call - not DDA jackal.

Refere missing hands on ball and high tackle inside 20 seconds

Ah fair enough. I’m watching on TG4 and my interpretation of Irish is as good as my interpretation of that penalty.

WTF? So you can only make a tackle if you're moving, now? You can just stand still, point your shoulder into an attacker's head and it's fine because you're standing still? Riiiightttt,.....

Mike Haley was literally standing on the opposite side when engaging in that right in front of the touch judge there.

Irish has improved enough the last few years that I'm following a decent bit of the tg4 coverage, rarely pay enough attention to the commentators to get annoyed by them but Toland finally broke my resolve there a game or two ago.

The breakdown is a mess, ref needs to step in before it boils over

Leinster are doing well at getting the ball wide quickly when Munster are light on numbers.

Munster's work at the breakdown, after the opening 10 minutes has been excellent.

If you were listening to Toland he'd have you thinking it was for a jackal the way he was going on.

Unbelievable counter maul from Porter there.

Leinster making poor errors now. Need to tighten up.

Thought McGrath deciding to attack from our own 10 against this Munster defense was absolute madness. If we continue doing this I can't see it ending well.

Dunno who turned that over for Leinster but it was a crucial steal.

    Munster were motoring.

Eoin Ó'N isn't the worst, just backs up Gary and states the obvious a bit, but doesn't talk utter shyte incessantly like Toland.

I'm just explaining what the ref said for feck sake. What's with the attitude?

VDF has turned into a real menace at the breakdown on both sides of the ball in the last couple of years.

Ronan Kelleher has had a great start

    Too right.

    If you're gonna be a 7, be a great 7

Excellent hands from Porter in midfield to release the ball to the backs.
