I had a kid with me so the logic was that we would sit in front because my friend is tall. My friend ended up sitting in the season ticket seats and beside the man who is now her husband. She was just out of a very long term relationship, so was he. His friends were egging him on but neither of them could pluck up the courage to ask the other out. Unbeknownst to her, I swapped numbers with one of the guys that was with him and texted him where we were so they could follow on afterwards. He doesn’t drink so he ended up driving us home, or part of the way anyway. He invited us in for a tea because we were passing his house so we went in. Probably not the best move in hindsight, stranger danger etc, but we were young and foolish. His housemate/friend was there too, so I ended up chatting to the friend and eventually got a taxi home without her. She arrived back in my house the next morning. They hadn’t even kissed. They sat up all night talking. That was the end of March. She is a teacher so finished up school the end of May and came to Dublin on a trial basis to see how it would work out, and she never left. They got married in 2016 in a massive 3 day affair, their first baby was born in 2018, and they now have 3 under 3! Because of COVID and the fact that we both have very vulnerable people in our lives, we haven’t seen each other since last March. I hadn’t actually met their last baby! Seeing her today was great, albeit in the toiletries section of Tesco, where she chased after me calling my name. Crazy too that it is their 7th anniversary of meeting! When I told someone in work the story they asked if I regretted swapping seats because I could have found love instead of her, but I genuinely think that there isn’t a more perfect couple. Anyway, the game itself was a bit crap, with the exception of Drico and his try (IIRC it was the one he nearly missed because he went over the dead ball line and the TMO watched it lots of times). I had bragging rights that day with the game, but I suppose looking at the bigger picture she had a better outcome :pac:
