I'm not sure there's time to reintegrate the international players if you want cohesive performances in this next block of games. It's probably best just to back the likes of Deegan, Osborne, Clarkson and Turner against the Bulls, Leicester, and hopefully La Rochelle.

Ryan is a huge loss. I'd go as far to say possible the worst player to lose for the KO stages - certainly up there with Porter or JGP.

He went off last week after taking a few late hits (the 2nd of which resulted in a yellow) but not sure what his condition is now , but it's possible he's injured.

Aungier is in a very good position in Galway. He's getting plenty of minutes and it won't be long until he's the starter. Bealham is getting on in age.

Bealham's new contract was announced on 31/10, I assume Leinster's interest must have been prior to that?

I think it's more likely that Leinster are in the market for a non Irish tight head tbh. They've targeted Bealham and O'Toole and were rebuffed on both.

Makes sense to now try internationally.

This sounds like a club do a bit of diligence on a player and it’s turning into targeted, I’d imagine all pro clubs are constantly looking at how alternatives are fixed contract wise.

Nope. Not up to the pace of modern day rugby and offers little outside the scrum. Has also dirtied his bib with Leinster in the past so not sure they’d be that keen to have him back. Shame as he seemed to have it all ahead of him in 2015 but his career has been downhill since.

New three minute video of Connors stopping lads dead. It's an awful shame that he essentially had two years of his career robbed through injury. If he can stay fit I think he'll play a big role in the major games to come this season.

It seems like they are prioritizing international quality tight heads so that rules out archer, Moore and probably Jack Aungier. Having said all that, if they do miss out on Tupou, they probably will be aggressive in chasing Aungier.

If he stays fit for the foreseeable future he makes the 6-2 split a long term reality for Leinster. I could easily see Connors step into the starting line up long term with Josh Van Der Flier playing a pivotal role off the bench. With the moves Leinster have made (RG Snyman), and are trying to make (Taniela Tupou), it is becoming crystal clear that Nienaber wants Leinster to have a bomb squad of their own. Cian Healy, Ronan Kelleher, Taniela Tupou, RG Snyman, Jack Conan, Luke McGrath, Ciaran Frawley, Josh Van Der Flier. That bench would be obscene. A ridiculous amount of power, ball carrying, playmaking, offloading and game changing ability.

Aungier signed a new contract with Connacht yesterday so that option has gone for now.

Connors is great but turns 28 in a few days, is only 3 years younger than Van Der Flyer, and given his terrible injury profile I doubt if he will be a long-term option. He is a terrific player though.

I didn't see that RE: Aungier. Good for Connacht. Makes even more sense for Leinster to double down and splurge on a TH, especially if they aren't in the market for a 3rd NIQ player.
