Will connors getting tackled without the ball a few times.

That should be a yellow as well. Can't be doing that.

Been a while since I've seen such a blatant off the ball tackle.

Usually they're just late hits or some piece of invention that sucked in a tackler. But this one was just the Zebre 7 mullering Connors who was never near the ball.

Luke McGrath is having a stinker.

Is it just me or is the cheesier the stadium music, the better Zebre play?

They had a great spell there after blaring Lil John.

Has so much experience etc etc.

I'm starting to have flashbacks to Isaac Boss being flogged way beyond any reasonable measure.

The last 5 minutes of the half is the perfect example of what Nienaber is trying to bring defensively. Zebre had a lineout on our 22. Leinster were fast up to make the hit, but then had another player blitz the ruck to slow the ball down further. This happened for 5-6 phases and Zebre were now 20 metres behind where they started from.

    Barry Murphy is hilariously anti-leinster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Not sure of if the commentators have mentioned it, but Mangan is on for Connors.

Really hope he's alright. Took some huge hits in the first half.

    McElrean on for Frawley?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    McErlean is on as well.

Frawley was recieving a lot of treatment in the first half as well. Hopefully he's ok for the Leicester game too. Especially with Keenan an injury concern.

Great break by McGrath, just ran out of gas. Good lineout steal and well worked finish.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Having said that he's now just started the second half brilliant.

60 metre break and a try 90 seconds later.

That’s a lovely score, lovely break and running by Turner and a handy finish by Penny

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Another great try.

Jamie Osborne really showing his class now. Big part of the almost try for his brother a minute or two before. Then a lovely step an offload to put Turner through a gap in defence. Them excellent support from Penny the best phase to go over.

Deegan having a great game. Connors and Frawley off injured?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Both lads were getting a lot of treatment in the first half so they could be injured. Hopefully it's just precautionary.

I just heard Whoomp! (There It Is....)

    Comeback might be on here...

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

How on earth did the referee not think that was a deliberate knock on?

He slaps it out of the air with one hand.

A few minutes ago Prendergoat spiralled a kick from his own 22 to the Zebre 10 metre line.

    Give him the Balon D'Or

Good to finish the match on a positive with the try. Quick start in the second half killed off the match as a contest but also some good defence as well.

Happy with any win before kick off.

    Luke McGrath motm?

    That's shocking tbh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 328 ✭✭bingobango12

His passing can be off but the guy has 50 tries for Leinster, is probably the best defensive 9 in the country and captained Leinster multiple times. Gets sh*t on far too much on this forum.

McGrath has been a fantastic player for Leinster, but I don't think he played at all well this evening. Nothing wrong with saying that.

I agree with you about tonight and the comment wasn’t directed at yourself, more about the rugby forum as a whole that seem to give him a hard time. He’s no Gibson-Park but definitely better than many seem to think around here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,927 ✭✭✭OldRio

And how is any of that relevant to him tonight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,758 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Some good performances tonight. Deegan, Penny and Molony were the pick of the forwards. Very happy with how both Osborne's and Russell played as well.

It's some luxury to be able to bring Ala'alatoa and Milne on after 50 minutes. Makes a scrum probably stronger and definitely improves our carrying game. Very useful at URC level.

I'd like to see Leinster go as close to full strength as possible for the Bulls game. Would be a great tune up match to get our returning Ireland players back in sync for the Leicester game the week after.

Would also serve as an opportunity to increase the gap between ourselves and our closest rival in the URC this season. That points buffer could be vital as you'd expect us to lose at least once when we head over to South Africa.
