I opened it and read it, I can't find hospital admissions by age anywhere on it only deaths, just send on the link. It's not that hard.

Here's the 14 day report for 01/03/2021 up to midnight 14/03/2021

It’s either because ICU care in Ireland is one aspect of healthcare in this country that’s the best in the EU or it’s because we admit people to ICU that don’t actually need that level of care and would survive without ICU

Or the other way round, the people who would not survive anyway don't get admitted to ICU.

I read his post wrong, he quoted total cases. 164 cases from a healthcare setting means transmission levels are still out of control in hospitals.

Healthcare setting includes nursing homes and the residential care settings.

Your 50% to 2.3% doesn't sound out of control to me.

    YMMV

The only change has been now all HCW’s are now vaccinated

No other demographic have had an opportunity for full vaccination like HCW’s have

I believe there are some health care workers yet outstanding including those yet to get their second vaccination shot.

Thanks for that. 25% of hospital covid cases were contracted in hospital, 25% of these cases which are plastered all over the media and the reason we are locked down were actually contracted in ****en hospital itself.

It's not a wild stab, its a direct quote from the head of the hse.

I didn't quote your comments in that btw.

What was quoted were guesses and wagers ...

The number 25 occurs 9 times in the report.

None of the occurrences say what you're suggesting.

It was detailed on the Radio when the news broke about the AstraZenica vaccine being pulled. I don't remember a number having been given.

They detailed those who were yet to get their shots and or second doses and detailed in that healtcare workers.

Many HCWs who were sick or restricting movements due to contact with cases are only being vaccinated now . Had to be 4 weeks over it before they could be done .

Healthcare setting acquired : 100. This is patients not staff. Staff is 64.

    Total hospital cases 414.

    24.1% of total cases.

Sickened by this idea that the 5km might not be lifted in April. I've mentioned it before at Christmas but I work abroad and that would make the week before Christmas the only time since the October that I have been at home with no level 5 restrictions. Why are kids not being left play outdoor sports? And why are we still penned into a 5km limit that is making no difference? I'd like to go places where I don't have to lie at a checkpoint to get there.

It's starting to get really tough. All I want to do is visit my family in the garden and be able to go to the mountains, be able to go for a run / walk / cycle around county limits at least. Surely, people cannot take much more of this? I know I can't.

Does anyone else here worry that ireland and the wider eu vaccination plan has been dealt a severe blow with very little justification regarding the astrazeneca suspension? how do they plan on restoring the publics confidence in it after ****ting on it with little scientific reasoning

It was the first gorgeous day of 2021, you canna blame anyone really for going a walk in such nice weather.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Me personally, I don't really care. I never gave the vaccine much thought. Go with the flow type thing.

For other people, doubtful. If they want it, they'll take it

id have no problems taking the az vaccine myself if I was offered it tomorrow I'd take it but uptake in the eu was slow enough already, germany france and bulgaria to name a few had fridge loads of it so God knows what the end result of this latest farce will be

Fully expecting a small number of scum to take up 90% of todays headlines regarding the protest. Who cares about the people who are peacefully protesting the shambolic handling of the situation by the Government, who have legitimate concerns about the negativity from our media, or who have had their businesses closed down for a year, and lets focus on scumbags being scumbags.

Clearly anyone there is a violent, right wing, conspiracy nutjob

I think today will show how much people don't care anymore. I expect everywhere to be packed

Didnt seem to be any "scum" at yesterdays equally stupid protest. That did seem peaceful without a chunk of arrests. Yet the lockdown "protests" seem to completly ignore the peaceful part as if its just another restriction to ignore.

I’m hoping the government will notice the other much bigger protest - that most of the country will be out and about enjoying the nice weather, and will be visiting family or having people over. Hopefully their movement data will show them how futile their position has become.

Agreed. The biggest protest against restrictions today will be people meeting up, travelling for non essential reasons and basically breaking most of the bs restrictions.

I'll be tipping on to the beach anyway to bring my family for a walk in the glorious spring sunshine. Fresh sea air. Picnic out of the boot. Locked up long enough now.

Well outside 5km. If I get stopped so be it.

All the Garda will be in the city centre stopping people protesting restrictions so it's a perfect time to head off somewhere nice.

Tonight is going to be a huge problem for the Gardai and the government. Even last night I witnessed several households having garden parties and around where I live the amount of people out and about last night would make NPHET pretty uneasy.

Tonight is going to be a bloodbath of problems. Don't be surprised if you hear about disturbances if the Gardai attempt to break up parties or gatherings. The weather is going to be mild again today on top of it all.
