Ah OK, didn't know that. Don't think I've seen one at night so as I would have noticed that.

I found it weird in the beginning but those headlights are doing a great job! Better than my Merc :)

I can see where you're going wrong and only getting diesels.

    https://www.hyundai.ie/new-cars

Scroll down, they have some models in twice. The Tucson under Eco is the Petrol Hybrid versions.

Test drove this on Saturday. Blew me away tbh. And that's me coming from a 2L Petrol Mazda.

The problem I have now is whether to get the Executive or Executive Plus model. Don't know if LED headlights and tail lights are enough to justify the extra for the executive plus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,768 ✭✭✭youngblood

Also wondering if the Plus is worth it! Hoping to upgrade this year and was lookin for opinions

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,716 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Go for Executive Plus. My friend got Executive and regrets his decision now.

    I have Executive Plus:
Bigger infotainment screen with inbuilt navigation
BlueLink live services and mobile app.
Turn on the car remotely & car is warm before you enter.
    LED lights (huge difference).
    Bigger 19" alloy wheels.
    And more on the list!!!

Is wireless android/carplay now available on the plus?

This would be a big deciding factor for me

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,716 ✭✭✭masterboy123

It's not. You have to use a cable.

I personally don't use android play as I have everything available on the car or through the phone connected via Bluetooth.

Few people have asked me how to start the new Tucson remotely.

So this feature works only in Hybrid Executive Plus model.

Step 1: First Lock the car using the keyfob.

Step 2: Press and Hold (approx 5 seconds) the circular button (4th button from top) on your keyfob. This will start the car and maintain the temperature at 22 degrees C.

    Picture of keyfob below:

Is that feature only on the hybrid executive plus model?

Does the regular diesel executive have a sunroof does anyone know?

Apparently this is not a standard feature on the exec plus. According to my dealer some of the first exec plus models had this but it’s not part of the spec.

Yes, remote start is available only in Executive Plus hybrid model.

No sunroof option available in Ireland.

Can I ask what the average consumption per 100km is for those with the hybrid?

I am currently getting 6.5L/100 km. It's combined city + motorway driving.
I think it will come down to 6L/100 km as I am no longer using Spprts mode anymore.

Is there a recommendation for the home wall charger for the plug in hybrid?

Father in law has just ordered a new Executive Plus model.

  • Registered Users Posts: 51,122 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

There is probably an entire thread on home chargers over in the EV/hybrid sub forum.

Edit: Here it is - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057839190

Would anyone with the Hybrid Executive Plus mind sharing how much you paid? I understand they're having no problem selling them but curious to see if there is much room on a straight deal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,815 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

My Dad got himself a Hybrid executive plus days ago and is delighted with it...the first thing you notice is the comfort level which is seriously impressive..

The finish of the interior is modern, luxurious, stylish and hard wearing quality... its minimalist in a way, there are not heaps of lights, dials and switches just what you need in front of you...seats are brilliantly comfy...last model the heated seats were an added bonus and will be again come November..

Aircon is great, nicely regulates the temperature ten seconds after you activate it without making any noise or blowing a mini hurricane into your face...which is the one thing I hated about my Qashqai.

Forget was he said he paid, he traded in an 18D executive plus but I’ll ask.

I paid €43500 for Hybrid Executive Plus.

Would you know was that much off list? I can see the pricelist on the website but its without metallic paint and delivery charges?

Also, I see there is a Premium Plus spec now on the pricelist but the actual spec differences aren't included? anyone heard of this?

  • Registered Users Posts: 51,122 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Figures get somewhat muddled when you have a trade-in compared to a straight deal price.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,716 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Yes i think it was about 3k off the listed price on their website. I asked the dealer how come metallic paint and delivery charges are so high. He said it's been this way.

With Merc the delivery charge was 1500. But paint was included in the listed price.

Also, I traded in my old Merc.

Overall i'm satisfied with the new Tucson.

I suppose they charge you more when you have a trade in car?
