    Not only it is V2 they are also "only" 6. So anything it is possible.

    Yeah I see that. This disappoints me no end.

    In norway on a route you have a choice of superchargers due to the coverage. We dont have that, there's literally one per region and none in the north west.

    I don't think Tesla themselves ever indicated that the open chargers would be restricted to V3 and large sites. I think most of that was wishful thinking and extrapolation by current Tesla owners. The real question for me is when/if we see a slight redesign in charger layout.

    It doesn't help you unless you have a Tesla account from the countries they have opened to. Or your hoping to open by summer time for Irish accounts?

    Irony of the situation is that there is plenty of spare capacity at the Irish SuC sites, I've never had any issue at even the V2 sites in getting full hookups.

    This is a major reason to buy a Tesla here due to the sh1te public infrastructure.

    If/when Tesla open up the Irish SuC then they will unwittingly become flooded as all will flock to them given their upkeep and reliance

    They are investing a lot of money considering they started building 2-3 substations last year. I wonder what would that cost? Meanwhile there are 2k Teslas (<10% EV lot) in the Republic and there is 5.8MW capacity installed and another 5MW coming online this year. That is equivalent to about 200 x 50kW chargers. Or roughly the same with the ecars capacity which is supposed to support the rest of 20k EVs.

    That's true but where there's a will there's always a way =;-)

    Lots of new EVs this year and last, Tesla and non-Tesla. Just think of all that money Tesla will make if they open to all (if the flood did indeed happen), all that money they'll leave on the table if they don't. It would be interesting to see the stats on the use of the Irish SuC sites, similar to what Black_Knight has done for eCars, but it's all proprietary stuff and locked away.

    Have there been many instances here where some of the Supercharger units have failed or were broken? Does Tesla themselves fix them or is it contracted out to someone?

    I've visited 12 different SuC locations over the years, apart from the two permanently shut off in Birdhill I've never seen a stall out of action.

    I’ll be driving from Cherbourg in France to Kiel in Germany in the summer, so will be using about 6-7 SuC’s spread between France & Germany, so might get to see some of the open sites.

    Just thinking about it, Tesla will know how many Tesla’s are either at, or en route to a particular SuC, so surely they (an algorithm) can then decide in real time how many stalls at the site should be made available to non Tesla’s….. I saw in Bjorn’s video that the app showed him which stalls were available to use, so how about the number of stalls the app shows as available to non Tesla’s is constantly changing based on current and immediate future use (Tesla’s navigating to the site).

    let’s say an 8 stall site with 4 Tesla’s there, and 2 on the way there, so the system decides only 1 stall becomes available to non Tesla’s, or when 2 Tesla’s leave, the number of stalls available to non Tesla’s increases to 2-3 etc…

    I see from Tesla.com that the Athenry site has a target opening of Q2 2022, while Enfield and Sandyford have Q1 2002.

    Have these dates been updated recently?

    Also did the SuC idle fees get updated or were they always that way - €0.50 per minute when at 50% occupancy and €1 per minute when at 100%

    You can ignore that Belfast SuC for a start, will never happen as Tesla's lease on SC too short

    Europe bought 143k M3s last year. Ireland 830.

    Back of an envelope calc.

    Popn. Ireland - 5m

    Popn. EU & UK - 513m

    IRE as a % of EU+UK = 0.97%

    143,000 cars x 0.97% = 1378 cars

    We bought enough to account for the current SuC's awaiting completion, and a few more dotted around.

    Being a small island means we are low hanging fruit in terms of attaining full SuC coverage, so it looks like that's what they are going for.. though it seems Ireland is a **** place to try and get things like this done promptly.

    3-4 more new sites would pretty much be our lot, and going forwards, expansion of existing sites, or more smaller sites in between the bigger ones.

    both Athenry and Enfield have been updated since yesterday. Surprised that Athenry not a direct follow on for the ESB trucks from Enfield since both locations are in a ready state? Hopeful thinking on my part since I am travelling from Belfast to Galway in a week. SuC at Castlebellingham not much use for that trip.

    830/1378=0.6 quite below the average.

    Tesla is not present officially in all European countries Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Slovakia but present in Iceland and Switzerland. which are not part of the EU stats. They just open shop in Hungary and Romania last year.

    Per country the outlook is a bit different. For the countries I could find data, the sales in 2021 look like:

    Germany 39k/83M -> 47 cars/100k pop

    France 24.9k/67.3M -> 37 cars/100k pop

    UK 34.7k/67.2M -> 52 cars/100k pop

    IE 830/5M -> 17 cars/100k pop

    Ireland is quite a bit behind, but hopefully catching up quickly.

    Oh FFS ESB just hurry up already and connect up these sites!!!!!!!

    In Sandyford the substation shed build is finished. But as you said more important when ESBN is going to connect them.

    Meanwhile all superchargers in NL open for everyone.

    Tesla expands access to Supercharger network to all electric cars at all stations in the Netherlands

    Surprised this hasn't made more headlines

    Evening folks, my searching is coming up blank. I'm hoping for some advice. I'm heading to Spain for a few weeks this summer. Sailing from Rosslare to Bilbao. I'm hoping to use the SuC network en-route but abrp has me going directly into the center of Madrid for a charge (which I want to avoid). Had anyone any experience driving and charging in Spain using their national charging infrastructure?

    Can't wait for Tesla to open up the network here. Wont need it much but will be fantastic to have the option.

    I'm not find abrp great. For example I'm meant to be going to mallow next week & ideally would need to charge there to avoid going out of my way & all it was showing was slow chargers but i checked plugshare & there is an easygo fast charger in the town

    Yes ABRP is not great, use Plugshare to find chargers etc.

    I wonder when we will wake up from this bad "opening up" dream.
