They've probably jizzed into their MAGA hats with sheer excitement that known Christian Nationalist Vladimir Putin killed a woke Ukrainians dog in the name of Jesus under direction of Donald Trump to make America great again from the paedophile lizard democrats led by a fully mentally declined mastermind, Sleepy Joe.

Or something of a similar vein. It's hard to keep up with their mental derangement when you're not mentally deranged yourself.

Somehow I'm reminded of the Jonathan Pie rant after Trump won in 2016, when he pointed out that insults and failing to understand the political opposition merely lead to an election failure.

Trump as a person and Trump and his policies are an active turn-off for a substantial portion of the electorate, including the swing voters who are critical to win over to succeed in the election. Yet despite this, Trump apparently is in with a reasonable chance of winning. I still think it is unlikely, but certainly more than just theoretical. You can compare a politician's intelligence to a goat all you want, but that has zero bearing on the fact that despite Biden being in a position where he should have a good headstart, he is in with a good chance of losing. For all the turn-off that Trump is making to independents, the Democrats are at absolute best generating incredible amounts of apathy to the same demographic, if not actively turning off a segment just like Trump is.

I don't see any way of getting around that conclusion, dog/puppy/canine-shooting notwithstanding. If the Democrat strategy is "look, Republicans shoot dogs and goats" on the assumption that voters consider that very high on their list of priorities over everything else (and lots uncontroversially shoot cute deer), I wouldn't consider it likely to be any more successful than the Clinton 2016 strategy.

There is a lot of focus on why Republicans deserve to lose. Where is the Democratic messaging on why they deserve to win, and how is that affecting (or not, apparently, given the polling) the swing voters?

Who said it was a Democrat strategy? This is just something that kicked off because of comments made voluntarily by Noem. It wasn't some sort of Democrat strategy or ploy. Critical commentary against Noem is coming from all quarters.

The election comes down to swing states. Nothing more.

National polling is of very very limited use.

Is this not down to a significant part of the electorate placing the defence of American Democracy (such as it is ) belo the importance of using their (threat of) voting based on their view of the conflict in Israel?

Even if not a deliberate tactic (which I think it is) it deprives the Dems of motivation for the vote that really should count ,which is to prevent the rise to power of an autocrat like Trump and all thst follows.

If the Gaza situation can be resolved to a significant degree before the election maybe Biden and the Dems will be able to fight without one arm tied behind their back.

From a purely cynical pov ,if Biden "caved into" the demands of the student protesters ,I think he would probably lose more votes than he would gain.

MMichael Moore was addressing this on CNN last night basically asking Biden to appease the demonstrators.

Avowing that like Biden he was a Catholic and had been a seminarian to boot </sickbag>

One of my sisters works with dogs especially "problem dogs" mainly due to the owners that they had before they end up with her.

Some are just to far gone to rehabilitate and cannot be rehomed to anyone who wouldn't be highly experienced with handling such dogs.

So euthanasia is the only option as they become more stressed in kennels. It is done by first sedating the dog in their kennel so that they aren't stressed out by a stranger (the vet) arriving at it, and when the sedation has kicked in they are then muzzled before the vet comes in to deliver the injection. In case anyone is wondering they are muzzled its because under sedation all dogs can lose their bite inhibition, and in these cases it is already low before sedation.

You would have to complete and utter cúnt to do what Noem did and an even bigger one to try and defend it and going on about liberals, woke etc not understanding.

Where is the Republican messaging on why they deserve to win? Why does their lack of message not affect the swing voters in exactly the same way you think it does the democrats?

The judge say he doesn't see a problem not holding the trial on May 17th so Trump cam attend his sons high school graduation.

Whats the odds Trump doesn't go to it.

Exactly…. This is the sort of stupid comment you get from MAGA.

Look at the Democrats, all they care about are goats…

So he gets permission to have a day off, will he be able to go to the graduation and not say anything that gets him locked up?

He'll be sat next to the woman he was cheating on which caused his whole court case!

And we all know how much Melania likes spending time with him of course.

Trump shares rocketing towards $50. That has to be wrong. They had dipped below $30 at some stage.

only a limited amount of shares to play with, and people grabbing them for a short. has to be that.

no one is really investing in this clown shop.

    also, this exists:

To be fair - He did actually go to the school/college graduations of the others - It's been debunked that he didn't.

Having said that , him making all the noise about this is complete theatre , at absolutely no point did the Judge tell him he couldn't go.

The Judge has said from the off that if Court was on that day , he'd have to be in court as per the law but that court might not be on that day and that is what has come to pass.

Bedminster's Senior Golf Championsip is on, he is the current holder, 9 years running, course record has been lowered by him each year, will be first man ever to win any Championship 10 times in a row.

Barron and Melania are fully behind him to go for it (relieved) and Stormy has been booked to provide extra incentive.

They don't need one. The media and Republican PR team convince the voters that only the Republicans create the jobs, keep Americans safe yadda yadda regardless of who the candidate is.

Democrats are always fighting the uphill battle. They are the communists/socialists who come to take your freedoms and your money and now your jobs because they are flooding the country with illegals.

That's why even when the economy is booming like it was in 2000 voters instead of choosing the candidate who would continue the trend they did a full 180 and picked a guy like Bush Jr. Similarly in 2016 the obvious choice to continue Obamas economic drive was Hillary but they decided "nah let's give it to the guy who has no political experience with a highly controversial past.

It's the same thing with candidates. Obama was too young and inexperienced to lead while Hillary and Biden were too old. Next Democrat will be too short or too thin or some other rubbish. Whereas little is made of Trump complete lack of political experience or his age. The US voters gave Reagan a second term remember when the guy was clearly suffering from Alzheimers.

But then you aren't talking about swing voters, just the usual low info, follow-the-party-line voters.

Either they are swing voters or they aren't.

If they treat the parties differently in their expectations then they aren't swing voters, they are something else.

Like the pic of Donald coming back in after a break, he has either
walked away from a big one or very relieved he got there just in time
    for the nappy change.

As has been pointed out a billion times already, the whole controversy is being driven by conservative Republicans to begin with.

NeverTrumpers or whatever you call them vs Trump and his people.

    Dog voice

You do realise that that is literally what you tell a child?

"Fluffy has gone away to a new home in the country" etc.

Why are you infantilising people? A photo of a cute dog with big eyes...

This is the worst kind of manipulative hackery imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,336 ✭✭✭✭Penn

I didn't make the image, dude. I posted it after seeing it on another site just to make the point that Biden didn't take the dog out behind the White House and shoot it in the head.

The whole republican/MAGA contingent are saying what she did was wrong, and you aren't.

If that doesn't give you pause for thought....
