Riots had very little to do with restrictions, I very much doubt the scum throwing paving stones at the police were gainfully employed before the pandemic.

Cosplay nazi's and criminals used the sit down protest to be violent criminals.

A fair chunk of them got arrested the rest were moved on.

    Job done.

Make no mistake, anti restrictions demonstrators are far left.

The cleverest thing the media did was convince the world they were far right.

Nah. I think just being asked to return back is sufficient.

Any scum that throws a paving stone at anyone else should be belted and have a dog set on them.

You know, as a deterrent not to do it again.

    Wouldn't you agree?

A good tasering or two followed by a huge fine might send the proper message too.

Are you hoping for scenes like that in ireland?

Hopefully the Govt will come to their senses and realize that these seemingly never ending cycle of months long lockdowns followed by a slow crawl of re-openings only to lockdown for months again isn't working before it comes to that here.

    What does it equate to?

    Closed pubs.

Gigs '24 - Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball (Gomez), The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Stendhal Festival, Forest Fest, Electric Picnic, Pixies, Ride, Therapy?, Public Service Broadcasting, IDLES, And So I Watch You From Afar

Gigs '25 - Spiritualized, Supergrass, Stendhal Festival, Forest Fest, Queens of the Stone Age, Electric Picnic, Vantastival, Getdown Services, And So I Watch You From Afar

Anyways to the new poster here who wants to know or see what the endgame is

at 0:25 there is an incredible scene :)
I think the ironic thing in that video is the shop that got destroyed at the end was probably one of the only shops that was actually open. Go figure.
How is it that modern day 'protesters' all seem to wear scumbag hoodie uniforms. Probably because they're just scumbags.

    To be pedantic by definition
Generally, the left-wing is characterized by an emphasis on "ideas such as freedom, equality, fraternity, rights, progress, reform and internationalism" while the right-wing is characterized by an emphasis on "notions such as authority, hierarchy, order, duty, tradition, reaction and nationalism".

I know it’s irrelevant but the media have reversed the definition in some articles I’ve seen by referring to anti restriction demonstrators as far right

The police should have used tear gas on those scrotes. Maybe even stronger measures.

    What like rubber bullets?

The lockdown regime isn't even a year old and its already turning into one of the most brittle status quos in history.

Looks like it was looted as well. And a poster here is cheerleading this sort of scum behaviour. Speaks volumes.

There were 2 separate groups at play yesterday in The Netherlands.
1 that demonstrated against the curfew and once the police got involved as in that clip, a 2nd group took their chance to riot and loot.

Because this is also The Netherlands 2021:

Yeah, that article also claims that in the Ireland section that pubs are open for takeaway. There's at least one other error in it (albeit probably an omission for brevity). It also seems to think that "level 5" is an actual level of restrictions here, as opposed to a blanket term for whatever arbitrary combination are in force at any one time.

So I wouldn't take its description of any other country as gospel.

By any means necessary to deal with scum behaviour.

    Are you serious?

Is this what 3 lockdowns do a to a person - create this need for violence at all costs just to calm some "protestors" down?

What will you be suggesting after 5th lockdown?? just shoot on sight?

I hope you are joking btw otherwise this is pretty horrifying.

Funny how people who claim they are tying to “save lives” and “do the right thing” are the ones who keep talking about water cannons, tasers and rubber bullets. Generally while earning a full salary.

The other crowd would just like it if they could work and have their freedom again.

As I said before, when the government burn this country to the ground, I’ll sleep well knowing that I didn’t support this nonsense whatsoever.

It’s actually very sad that people have become this.

I hope the government have representatives viewing these pages so they can see how bad the problem has become.

Some people will need some serious counselling and help before they can properly rejoin society.

    Evening all,

Back after being away for the last week while I was getting over my cataract surgery (which went really well thankfully).

FYI.. despite my relaxed-yet-practical attitude to this whole mess, I passed the required CV-19 test with flying colours as I knew I would. Never had symptoms, live alone, WFH and will continue to do so with as little disruption as I can manage.

Just wish I could have paid for the vaccine while I was up there. I want to fully get back to my life and will probably be waiting a long time yet here.

If you had a shop in Ireland, you’d never be allowed to open it anyways!

A good looting might get you a decent insurance pay out.

Jesus, that reads like a Trump Tweet.

    Anyway.
Police in Eindhoven, 80 miles south of Amsterdam, also used a water cannon and tear gas against a crowd of demonstrators that included supporters of the anti-immigrant group Pegida

    Here is their founder.

    Bloody media, *shakes fist*

Nope. Not joking at all. If certain scumbag elements want to play with fire then they should expect and deserve to get burned.

    Apparently so... you can be:

    - Not infected
    - Infected and have symptoms
    - Infected and not know it until you have a test
    - Classed as a "case" even if what you're ill with is something completely different but the rather overzealous test says you have it

So yup A+ :D Thanks for your concern Boggles. Missed you too!

So are you saying that looting is a good thing to happen to a business owner then? If you are, then to quote your buddy`s comment on here earlier

    "Wow. Mind blowing".
