    Steady rain in Arklow
    5.3c but dropping
    Dewpoint is 2.4c
    Wetbulb 3.8c
    Flat calm

I'd say it's snowing on Lugnaquilla already from experience, there's going to be some total up there before the day is out

A nowcast day, the precip has taken a notable push north over Munster in last few frames, indicating a bit of a wave on the front, this could extend the rain-band a little further north and west than on some of this morning's runs, certainy further north and west than the latest ICON output.

I wouldn't rule out a few surprises today, hopefully it will at least snow at Roundwood and our correspondent up there can provide some pictures!

Moderate rain with temps falling to 4.4c here in Waterford City. 7.9mm recorded so far today. The Comeraghs should do well out of this with a wintry mix to lower levels i would say.

Temp still slowly dropping here probably due to that small wave passing over the SE.

I think places like Glencullen, Enniskerry etc could get a nice surprise later. Inland Wicklow looking good I reckon but we shall see.

It could be one of those times that him slightly higher than me has it and we don't. If ye get frustrated with the marginal set ups in general, it's common enough that the snow line is just a couple fields higher up than me!

Oh well if that’s the case that could well bode well for the east later.

Raining and 5.1c in Arklow, a very slow drop
Wind at 10kmh is NE though off the sea here
If that sets in,it will bring the snow line locally up above 2000ft
I WAS NOT expecting a north east wind today

Noticeable ice in among the raindrops in north Carlow. Temps have dropped from 6 to 3° in the last hour.

Currently 4.6 degrees at my station in Carlow town with a dewpoint of 3.4. Hard to see even sleet for the front coming in later unless there is a substantial drop. Total precip accum for past 24 hours 3.56mm

My station near Tullow down to 3.7c but Dew Point of 3.1c with just rain!

I think heffoo you should be in luck later in a great part of the country :D

Not in this system. Temps will remain stable

A little further north than was being anticipated. Actually if you're wondering why your temperature may be more reluctant to fall or may even be rising in the far southeast it's because there is actually milder air skirting along there atm which was thought would remain off shore.

In terms of who gets what obviously height will help but clearly Wicklow and higher parts elsewhere are favorite. For lower levels there is no point in forecasts now, you may get some flakes you may not. It's one of those very marginal things.

Bucketing down near Rathdrum now not a hint of snow or sleet even

  • Registered Users Posts: 972 ✭✭✭mallards

Raining steady now near the Wicklow gap with a little sleet in it.
