As an SET in mainstream primary school can someone please give me an example of how sending children with additional needs back first would work....an actual example of how the day might work... genuinely looking to get ideas

I know in our school when they were originally meant to be going back we had planned that they come in for two hours a day. Far more than the vast majority would get in a standard school day anyway but then when the parents were asked pretty much none of them were willing to send their kids in anyway. I would imagine the same might be the case if they are to be sent back without their peers.

Imagine, this time last year, loads of Irish people were on ski trips in Italy. We hadn't a clue what was ahead. It's so hard to believe this is going on for almost a year.

This time last year (next Sunday) we were masked up coming back through Frankfurt.
For the first time in the 20 years we've been making the trip (not-skiing).
Most weren't but a lot were, and there was tension in the air.
Coughing or sneezing did not go unnoticed.
    It was already different.

When pupils return to school, what will be done about the school rule concerning the shortening of hair, given that barber shops are closed and some parents may not have the ability to cut their children's hair and don't have friends living nearby who would be able to do it either?

Why wouldn't parents have the 'ability' to cut hair?

Policy should be driven by hard data. #

For example, an announcement stating "When number reach X amount per day for Y days, we will look at reopening schools". This leaking and speculation is not good for anyone - students, parents, teachers, or other school staff.

Three days of leaks ahead so. If it is agreed then just have the cabinet meeting and okay it and just announce it. Put everyone out of their misery.

The fact they can't have talks without this level of leaking shows how much esteem they are held in by their own civil servants and the other "partners in education"

18 and a half school days in March. Send them all back and reassess over the Easter break.

Did anyone watch Aodhan o Riordan on 6:01, when he was pushing PG, why wasn’t he asked about the lack of data as the reason the unions don’t want to do it?! Instead he says they aren’t the only union! (so he thinks the TUI will mark ASTI student). So frustrating.

COuld you imagine if we had a show like SNL, she would never be off it. Imagine the cabinet not knowing when she wanted schools reopened. APart from forgetting to tell Cabinet, I wonder did she consult NPHET who said it was too early to open schools, and that numbers wouldnlt be below 100 for about 6 weeks.

Why is she making the same mistakes as the last time? How can one person be so wrapped up in their own agenda that they can't see the big picture?

Egotisitical, out of her depth and a bully. She is determined to get her own way, and it doesnt matter who gets in the way.

It is farcical to think she is going down the same road again. She needs to be removed from office.

I genuinely have this image in my head now of an alert going off during the cabinet meeting and all eyes swivelling to her in a wtaf moment

That jumped out at me as well!! They were all looking at their phones during the meeting!! Jaysus if I did that during a staff meeting I'd be out on my ear...JCT inservice day however I could probably claim its part of my wellbeing programme.

No compromising the health of students and school staff.

Nicola Sturgeon being very blunt about things.

If she didn't have such an important job it'd be comical. How the jaysus did she get this gig? I think I'd trust the Healy-Rae's to communicate better than Norma, she seems to have no idea whats going on or how to talk to anyone :pac:

She just keeps saying "they will open now/soon" and hopes for the best.

If they don’t open by mid March it will likely be September. No way they will open for a few weeks.
