    Valleymount

I'll vote for the place I'd much prefer to visit which is Valleymount.

Can't get in any way excited about a horsey racey course.

The Curragh. Neither probably deserve to advance over others but that's the draw. If we're talking Ultimate it has to be the Curragh over some field with nice scenery.
    This

I looked up Valleymount and it turned out I was a couple of hundred metres away last summer, just the other side of that bridge at the bottom of the picture, and I knew nothing of it. I think my ignorance is indicative of it not being an ultimate venue

Me either. Never got the attraction. Not averse to riding but not horse riding ;)

Neither really qf material, but what a lovely place for a sporting event Valleymount is. I don't care about 60k+ crowds necessarily. I want somewhere to enjoy a game, and that's Valleymount more than Curragh here

Without a drone to take photos, Valleymount doesn't look that great...

Ah here. I got banned for that.

The Curragh, as I fancy a flutter sometimes :p

Things getting serious now when supporters turn from cheering their “side” to abusing the opposition.

Not to mention the terrace talk from Kathleen above.

Somebody will call the ref (Omackeral) a wanker in a minute.

You're distracted, the tactics are working ;)

    I voted with you :)

If we're talking ultimate sporting venues, then the Curragh has to win here. Neither is a great contender and can't see the victor of this round going much further.
    The Curragh gets my vote

Some wonderful gamesmanship in that match. I love to see it.

The Curragh advances to the quarter final

    The Curragh.
great natural arena complimented by a beautiful new grandstand.
Valleymount is scenic but the non leaguers have reached the end of the road

Ok, EN you win this time

The Crucible Theatre - because the other is now a fishing shop.

Also the iconic moments associated with the Crucible

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,782 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Zoom in on the green sign on the Pyramid. It's a damn fishing shop, not a sports venue

Whereas the Crucible is the most iconic venue in its sport.

    Crucible please

    The Crucible Theatre

Just cause the other one is now a fish shop and beat Thomond Park

The Crucible, for late nights, missed blacks and unbeatable tension

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,777 ✭✭✭KathleenGrant

The crucible a poster gave a reason before, a fantastic reason.....Dennis Taylor.

Don't get the pyramid. The Crucible is great as a snooker fan though

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,314 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

I think I’ve voted for The Pyramid and against The Crucible in previous rounds but I’m going to go with The Crucible this time. Not out of any great love for the place but the more I think of it a pyramid is a bit of a **** venue for sports. What does it look like inside? There’s only so far up the tiers can go before you’re looking directly down on the fight.

    Crucible.

For all the two-day long finals over the years, and all the huge personalities (sadly lacking these days!), and the dramas, and That Final.

    The Crucible

Another venue stacked full of highs and lows

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,421 ✭✭✭tc20

    The Crucible.
For the drama, the teenage years watching the legendary players late at night with my folks.
The other yoke looks like the Square in Tallaght

    The Crucible Theatre

For snooker and long snooker matches. When the other one isn't even a sporting venue
