Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For people looking at ICE? Are you not worried that they are outdated are will suffer from poor resale value ?

Have a Peugeot 5008 due for delivery late Jan but probably later than that. The dealer has given me different eta every time I've talked to him in the last couple of months. Anyway I'd love to have gotten an EV but I need something big for 3 kids and all their paraphernalia. I'm hoping by time PCP is up in 3 years time there is better(any?) options in the large EV market.

I’d be looking at the Volkswagen ID6 in that market

Lovely mark 11 that red one.I’d say it’s north of 150k sterling.probably closer to 200k.
You’d be afraid to rally that.

Not quite, you'd have a few quid change out of 100k.:D

£14.5k +vat for a mk 1 body shell from them.

Toyota dealership in Sligo showing off, god knows what level of dullness they're destined to be fitted to..

To be fair I think VWs these days are a lot duller than Toyotas now. Even the Corolla saloon has style now and looks good. Also they have the cool GR Yaris mow as well so maybe one of them will be on a fast Yaris.

    Peace and long life.

I admire your optimism but fear it's misplaced on that front

Corrolla looks decent on the exterior, but is a mess inside, couldn't be looking at this on a daily basis

Missed a few posts early in the thread.
How does contactless collection work in terms of getting keys and handing over keys to your trade in?

Would love to buy a new EV but only a select few really speak to me..the Honda e in particular but the range is the only thing stopping me. I don't drive long distances but I don't know where I will be working or living in a years time.

211 WW Yaris out the M9 from Kilkenny after being collected this morning- nice little car, looks like quite an improvement on previous models

Not sure, depending on your taste and the quality in the actual car, especially after a couple of years, it could date rapidly

To me that looks like it won't date nearly as quickly as the likes of a VW.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,477 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

    Contemporary is what dates worst.

The VW stuff was always generic and ergonomic enough to date well, but I think a lot of their current ideas will date badly.

First thing I saw when looking at the picture is a less fisher-price version of the VW I.D.

IS there a delay in being able to tax the new motors?

https://www.motortax.ie/ doesn't recognise the Plate or Pin.

I've read on another forum that you need the last 7 digits of your VIN now instead of 6, maybe try that.

    Nope, Still not working

    Details Incorrect (please see below)
The combination of registration number and PIN entered was not valid. Please check you have entered the correct vehicle registration number and current PIN.

I picked up car on Wednesday and taxed it yesterday evening using last 6 digits of VIN for PIN.
Keep checking your reg here https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/motortaxreg.do
Once it is showing up you can tax it.

    Boards platform issue I’d imagine.

Pricing looks competitive, this could be one of Ireland best sellers this year.
