Some terribly soft frees in this, it's like a challenge match

Same last night. Without the crowds the refs are going by the book knowing they won't get eaten afterwards.

    Reidy off, never got going

Desperate miss by Kyle Hayes when there was a goal on..Clare straight up the field for a point. Two point swing. Kyle Hayes has been poor today.

The yellow sliotar broke Byrnes hurley. Never saw a hurley break like that.

4 points in it now, 1-21 to 0-28. Not sure how Clare are still in this but we are CMON THE BANNER

10 minutes to go now we could do with bringing on a few subs

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 23,924 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

And just like that Limerick put over 2 points to go 6 points in front.

For a team that has a reputation for accurate short passing Clares short game has been really poor. Missing lads with simple 20 to 30m balls regularly. Making it easy for Limerick.

I think Clare are doing well to only 6 points behind. Feels like a bit of a hammering on overall play.

Limerick by far the stronger team. Clare not really up to much. Apart from Tony Kelly they are miles off the pace.

8 points down now, totally lacking in midfield and half forwards. 32 points is some return in October.

    36 points is some scoring.
    Kelly was immense.
    Deserved win.

For how impressive Limerick have been a full forward line of callanan, john McGrath, forde maybe a bubbles or Jake morris in the mix too could do damage against a makeshift full back line.

36 points is some amount of scoring, mainly from play as well but Clare didn't have a midfield or half forward line so Limerick could shoot at will almost.

Decent first half. I feel Limerick will go on to win by 10 points as they've a far healthier spread of scorers and that wind is worth a nice few points. Clare are just about hanging in there.

Not a bad ht call :)

With the exception of 2018 championship Clare have been a fierce disappointment since 2013... shame really.. as they play really brilliant hurling when going well.. I heard before game that just 4 of the 2013 panel are still the involved.. is this true?

Like the football, we undersell our national leagues so much. Barely a glance on tv of teams lifting their trophies. Promote it FFS.

Only 4 of the starting team from 2013 started today so that might be what you heard, but that was 7 years ago so not to be that surprising.

The league hasn't mattered in years

Donol Og surprisingly not knowing the history of the game in saying 'I don't know how many leagues Limerick have won but it's not that many' as Limerick win their 13th National League going only one behind Cork on the roll of honour.

        Uncharacteristic ignorance or possibly arrogance.

Strange to have a fella on a team beaten by 10 points named man of the match.

Not down to the Sliothar. When lads aren't tackling or blocking its easy run up big scores. It was challenge match stuff on both sides. Was there even one good shoulder today from either side. Lads had acres of room when shooting.
