The President can be replaced by the Vice President if they believe that he is incapacitated in some way. Biden has very obviously got some form of Dementia/Alzheimers. His behaviour is the exact same as my Dad was in the early stages.

The illnesses can progress fast or slow, but I'd be genuinely shocked if Biden lasts 4 years. He's like some of the USSR lads back in the early 1980's.

OK, So what you are suggesting is that the democrat party have run a candidate with signs of the onset of a degenerative neurological illness.

I'm not suggesting that you are wrong but if the US political system is in that much of a mess that a demented (literally) old man can make it through the presidential selection process the we are in real trouble.

Sure the incumbent is ringing Mr. Duffy according to the pic above.....how much more trouble could we be in after dat so to speak as they say?

He's in the early stages of it, he's showing some basic symptoms. I'm not sure how old you are, but growing up in the 80's it was obvious that Reagan had it as well as a few of the Russian leaders.

There is an actual procedure to remove him if incapacitated. Not sure if Biden will last 4 or 8 years, but Harris will be the most important V-P since George H.W. Bush in the 80's.

Reagan was famously suffering from early dementia from the outset. Spitting Image got huge mileage out of it. Nancy was virtually a nurse to her husband during his presidency.

I'd love to know the background to the row, it didn't look like it was over a game of conkers so to speak.

A drug deal gone bad (as in one party claim they were ripped off) apparently. Flashy (or is it Mr. Flashy?) is involved, Gardai expecting reprisals, but with guns, nat hatchets so to speak - was in the bastion of Irish journalism De Herild last evening so to speak. I read it as I waited for a medical procedure so to speak. OBVIOUSLY I didn't purchase such a rag!

An alternative theory of course could be that one side were Leo supporters who felt he has done nothing wrong and the other side believe he has breached the trust of his colleagues and the nation at large by handing over confidential documents to a "friend".

    Both are credible.;)

I heard it was something to do with a dog*. But it was simmering for a while, so this was just the final straw.

EDIT: May also be known as 'a dag'.

With the big jump in listeners for Liveline I can only assume this will mean that advertisers will be climbing over each other to get those vital advertising slots on the show.

Which begs the question, how will we know what happened on the D'Arcy show yesterday.

How will we know what is coming up on the D'Arcy show after Liveline.

How will we know who Tubs was talking to that morning.

How will we know what the latest government advice on Covid is.

And when thing return to normal, how will we know what concert the RTE orchestra are trying to shift tickets for.

No, they'll still avoid it as much as they do now.

Reading a rag.... must have been for de typical clientele of a raggy waiting room so to speak ;)
Actually der shouldn't have been any reading material in dat waiting room in de time of Covid. Der wasn't any in de Beacon yesterday, so to speak.

I should have clarified. De salt a dee irth who was in ahead of me was reading it and asked me did I want it as he was finished with it. I felt like it wasn't really a question more of a threat tbh so I accepted it. :pac:

To be fair he was wearing a mask and did clean his hands with gel on more than one occasion when I was in the waiting area with him. That said, i was still careful. I binned it after he left.

That said, I'm always amazed at the amount of salt a de irths dat do be in de private hostibbles.....

De other Joe, De Real Joe, De Talk to Joe - he's BIDEN his toyme so to speak will ensure he's the President of the yew Ess Ay and dat.

Very unusual situation wen you lose de presidency you can stay in de gaff for anudder 11 weeks.

"10 minutes" poem again - can I come on and read one of my wunderful fantastic poems?

Made a bollocks of saying ware ye can read de poem.

    Amazing reaction - sure.

Some calibration leading to a relaxation of de ban on nurses (he obviously meant to say visiting nursing homes)....

Actually yes, lots and lots of salta d'eerts in private hostibbles and vice versa, have come across very posh people in public beds, and not just emergency admissions it seems. Actually more complex cases are recommended to be done in public facilities at times by consultants.
