How does one enter in these referral codes I don’t recall seeing the option upon the initial order process… is it too late for me now to apply somebodies referral code? Currently at the stage of finance approval which should be sorted this week

Design Your Model 3 | Tesla

This red P is what I'd have, if none can have a towbar, but the new price increases are ridiculous. 70k plus is too expensive for a mid level sedan.

You get a link which you use at the beginning of the ordering process. You can't add it at a later stage.

You have to buy using the link rather than going straight to the website. Lots of people caught out by expecting to add a code or something at the end of the purchase.

Got the switch on my car fixed this morning. Seriously sound guy from Tesla had it done in 5 mins.

Chatted for a good half an hour with him. Said he's not happy with the opening of the network. Not only will it affect him trying to charge his own car while out on call but he reckons the "etiquette" will go out the window and it will be a free for all with people parking and not plugging in or people just sitting there trying to get to 100%.

His point as has been made in here, was that a lot of Tesla owners buy them because of the supercharger network and when you take that option away then you will see people looking at other manufacturers.

Totally agree, but it's happening, disaster for Tesla IMHO

I wonder will they make it expensive for other manufacturers? Still don't believe it will put people off as they'll happily pay to get moving.

Just think it will be a fcuking joke when you rock up to a TESLA supercharger and you are queuing behind Kia's, Hyundai's, Audi's and everything else in between!!

Normally the folk at Tesla seem to have eye firmly on the ball compared to the competitors and they have gained a lot of expertise in running a successful charging network since 2012.

I'm sure there is a plan in place to ensure the SuC experience will continue to be 1st class for both Tesla drivers and for the other drivers. The positive experience with Tesla charging your Mercedes better than Mercedes themselves surely had potential of turning other drivers future Tesla drivers. A bad experience in an overcrowded Tesla station would do the opposite and I doubt this is the master plan here. Proper Tesla charging hubs for Ireland and smaller sites in the West all funded by drivers of other makes of cars sounds potentially like a winner to me.

Let's wait for the details before worrying about this opening the network too much.

I don't know if the Tesla network being so easy to use would encourage other drivers to buy Tesla's tbh.

I know a good few people who don't like the look of them but are big BMW/Audi fans. They'll be laughing when they can just rock up at any Tesla charger and plug in without an issue. Musk's decision has just made life easier for non Tesla drivers.

I see what you're saying, but electricity is just a commodity - having the Tesla charging network satisfy my (probably once in a while) supercharging requirement, wouldn't mean I'm more drawn to Tesla as a car.

the pricing of the model 3 is now so off the wall, and with the Tesla-only buyers/fans here in ireland already getting their deliveries, Tesla will be a rare/niche model here for the foreseeable future.

it’s great news for residuals if you own a pre July model 3 :)

Is anyone else waiting on a Q3 delivery? Ordered in July still waiting on a VIN and delivery date. Looking at the Tesla Motors Club UK orders made in August of same specs are getting VINs and delivery dates and not a word other than "expected in September" from Tesla Ireland.

I know of June orders in the same situation, while August UK orders, of the exact same spec (RHD etc.) have delivery dates already, some in August.

It's just the way Tesla roll - end of quarter deliveries so it largely doesn't matter when orders are placed.

It'll 100% be here late next month is is quite likely on the ship Grand Ruby. Other Irish deliveries are on board that & it departed from Shanghai last week.

Best of luck with it when she arrives!

Thanks - that's a relief in a lot of ways. Sounds like its a mad dash at the end of the month so. I have been keeping an eye on the shipping thread alright so fingers crossed. Thanks for the clarification.

As others point out, Tesla currently very end of Q centric, I was at the Dublin SC in June and it was choc-o-block with MIC M3 everywhere and delays service side of the house due to new sales drop-off/pick-ups.

I posted on another thread of one Co buying 6 M3s as company cars, all delivered same day to them

Anyone downloaded the new Tesla app? I got it from an APK from a 3rd party website as it wasn't in the play store yet. Very slick looking.

Yeah been using it on iOS the last few days, it’s a nice upgrade….

look at the app when someone is driving the car.. it shows the car as a driving animation.

Does it work all the functions as normal ie. Locks, aircon etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,256 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

Yes, exactly the same, just a refreshed look

Also now shows the outside temp…

Driving through terenure this morning. Elderly couple walking off the footpath around a badly parked van. I was going slow enough when the car suddenly emergency braked....like fully locked up. Frightened the bejaysus out of me and I'm lucky I wasn't rear ended by the Audi behind me.

I was nowhere near them and I'm a bit píssed off that it did this. Tempted to turn off this function completely after this.

Same thing happened to me twice while I was in city centre and some junkies jumped in front of my car on purpose. I quickly swirled past them but the car was so adamant that I was going to hit them or already hit them that it applied the emergency brake (after the swirl has already been done)…

The junkies didn’t scare me a tiny bit but the emergency brake did…

I'm getting some false positives on frontal collision. Usually the software anticipates that I'm slowing down too little compared to the car in front of me. Kinda scares the passengers.

On the app I got an upgrade today 3.10.14.474 but don't see much changes. Defo not outside temp. I'd like to see some better trip computer that will remember daily usage and an improved charging app which would let you know different estimated times for different powers. Something geeky but a bit more useful than emission app.
