It would seem the owner of this restaurant is “one of us”.

Shame L3 means we can’t get this level of commitment in Ireland. By the time places reopen for indoor, it will be time for Christmas decorations :D

    WOW JUST WOW :D

That's pretty impressive. I'd need some attic to store all those in :D

I use to use the excuse of a baby keeping me awake as my reason for so much coffee however they are sleeping through the night now and my coffee intake hasn't gone down!!!

Was in big Tesco the other day, and saw these huge nerf gun contraptions. I'll hold off. In I go today, gone. No idea if they'll be back by Christmas. Doh.

Picked up the girls bike we wanted in Smyths though, all is not a disaster.

Yep the supplies I think will be under pressure, if you see something just buy it. Online shopping is ok in usual times, but with covid and Christmas I wouldn’t be relying on it either TBH

We have done that so many times over the last few years that we now just get something if we see it. Leads to a bit more impulse buys however no regrets.

Yep and in a lot of cases you can return unwanted items.

Amazon for example and other main street shops will soon too, allow returns up to 31/1/21.

It's probably a bit late now however I wonder if supermarkets will get a bigger range of Christmas stuff, decorations etc in case they are the only ones open in the run up to Christmas?

    ooh.... dont go there...

Though listening to the radio on the way in this morning there seems to be increased support at government level for a swift 3 week full lockdown. Which IMO would be a disaster.

Complete disaster. It won't happen IMO they'll do everything possible to keep the shops and rightly so open. I wouldn't be surprised if schools end up closing for 3 weeks soon though.

    Welcome to the seventies!

Time going by in a flash, is anyone else feeling like the weeks are bleeding into each other at this stage, I think it's cause I haven't gotten away this year and can't do too much outside of the home on the weekends.

Was thinking the same thing, it's been 3 weeks since we hit the 100 days to go mark and it feels like only 3 days since that landmark!

Completely agree. Not having any matches to go to or matches for the kids to play it feels a tad groundhog day with mainly our Christmas countodwn tracking the year. Amazed that the weeks are going by so fast, ( is supect volume of work is the real key for the weeks going by so fast) I'd fully expect them to be dragging at this stage such is the limited life mnay of us are leading these days. If work levels drop off (or completely stop) I suspect the weeks will start to drag a tad.

I agree weeks are going by so quickly,
How many Elves are WFH with the current level 3?
I am WFH since 14th February

Speaking with an older colleague of mine his son grows pumpkins in north county Dublin about 5K of them.. he thinks he is going to be stuck with them his regulars arent putting in the orders

what dates are the kids mid term? I wonder will they extend them while they are on mid term?

I'm WFH fully since End of March.

We were told once it's level 1 or 2 we're in the office anything over 3 and we need to WFH. I'm actually looking forward to getting back to the office at this stage, I think a compromise of 2/3 days at home/in the office works best.

Mid-term is the week of 26th Oct, there is a rumour amongst the school community that the schools will close the week before and after mid-term and move to an online platform for those 2 weeks outside of mid-term.

Yes disappointing with what is online for Carraig Donn
I imagine there is more in store, they usually have baskets with individual baubles
You think they would have more online considering so many people have under lying illness or are terrified to go the shops

I know some people would purchase gifts from them online but if you had a few baubles online I would easily add them to my basket to get my order as free delivery along with gifts

I don't think I will be back to the office on any kind of regular basis until there is a vaccine.

I think any who can work from home should work from home until there is a vaccine. My reasoning is that those who have to go into work, will have less traffic and less people on public transport, means less chance to catch the virus.

So working from home is a pain for some, but I think its best for those who can work from home to do so, to make life easier for those who can't.

I completely agree with this, my bosses don't however. They're eager to have us back as soon as possible.

The formula is simple, less people you come into contact the less exposure and risk of infection.

Ah that sucks. I think the government should enforce it. Its imo an easy win, that will have minimal problems for people.

I am lucky that even before the virus, the company I work for had already embraced a hybrid WFH/In office setup. Basically, everyone was automatically setup for WFH, and most people would do so for a 2/3 days a week. So we were lucky that we were ready to go when this thing hit, and they aren't bother about people returning back to office.

It's rare that I agree with the bosses but a blended approach is the way to go sometimes you need that interaction to bounce ideas off.

We have a company update with the MD later today so might hear something then. End of the year before non essential people back in the office was the message from about August however in the last few days have heard a few mummers of Q2 2021 now. Doesn't bother me too much however I know there are some people who are still finding it hard WFH, singles who house stare, live in 1 bed apartments etc.
