No. It also states the conspiracy theory is false. Did you not read the article?

So again, you have no evidence and all you have is based on a tweet.

You haven't read the report at all, so you don't know the context or who wrote it or when or why.
Yet you thought it might have been evidence for a conspiracy?

Do you not see the pattern forming here?

In the journalist's opinion it's false. The fact that he calls the Great Reset, which is all over WEF's website, a conspiracy theory is odd.

    I'm looking for the report.

    The journalist is right.
It's a bit strange for you to link to the article when it disagrees with you.

What you believe the great reset means is the conspiracy theory.
The article does a good job of explaining this. But I suspect you ahven't read that one either.

Here's a tip, if you're going to quote from something, it's a good idea to link it without being asked for it. It makes things much simpler and it would prevent stuff like you last false claim from happening.

And maybe you should actually read the dude's book to see if it actually says anything you think it says.

I mean, if you actually believe all this stuff, that seems like it would be least effort you could put in to start resisting this whole thing.

Some people are unable to process information properly and literally "read into" everything as some sort of sign of a massive conspiracy, which already seems to be the case here.

I think of lot of it isn't really "reading into it".
It's more some conspiracy youtube or site tells them that this is a quote that proves X and explains to them how you ahve to read between the lines etc.
Then it's accepted without question and repeated.

Reading the book I think would take too much effort on their part.

And if there was anything in the book even vaguely sinister sounding, it would have been all over the conspiracy media.
I think the fact there isn't and folks have to rely on tweets indicates that there's nothing in the book and it's probably a dry boring read.

I don't understand how these conspiracy theorists fail to see how they all adhere to the same patterns.

Constant fear of everything, non-existent conspiracies, no evidence, pseudo-science, youtube quacks, a mysterious "they" behind everything - rinse, repeat.

Between book reviews worrying you and Bill Gates smiling "perturbing" you, it seems you're living in fear of the slightest things.

He has a lot of company with people living in fear of a virus that is less deadly than flu in under 65s.

I've ordered the book and will have a read of it and make up my own mind.

    jesus christ

The current pandemic has threatened to overwhelm national health services, that means people dying on hospital steps, your aunt not being able to get chemo, you not being able to get treatment for a broken leg, ambulances not responding to calls, you do comprehend that right?

What on earth is it with people on this forum constantly trying to downplay a global pandemic as "just the flu", while on the other hand they are losing their minds with fear over possibly having to wear a mask, or that the "devil" is behind it, or we are getting microchips implanted.

Exactly. Timberrrrrr probably typing from under his bed with a mask on, telling us how we're all living in fear :D

Remind us again what you guys are doing to resist the conspiracy you think is happening?

Cause so far it looks like it's just "read and spread conspiracy crap online." and not much else.

"Sir we are ready to implement the plan to abolish all private ownership"

-"Right and remind me why again?"

"Some Danish MP wrote about it once, from there the wheels were put in motion, it cannot be stopped"

    -"Excellent, send the tweet"

Denmark... isn't that where people took to the street for a week recently as the government were about to pass a law allowing them to force vaccinations?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,799 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

    I
The biggest problem right now is not hospital overcrowding but hospital undercrowding, and people missing vital treatments because of fear.

Right, feel free to explain why hospitals in certain European capitals reached capacity and have to divert patients
Those same people laughing at conspiracy theorists and feeling superior to them making the same irrational choices themselves.

If people want to be worried about a global pandemic, that's fine. If people want to be worried about imaginary conspiracies, that's not fine. According to ICU nurses and doctors there are people are dying in hospitals angry and confused because they don't think Covid is real due to these nonsense conspiracies and beliefs

You posted pictures of children's clothes with skulls on claiming it was a sign of the NWO about to take over..

As part of your conspiracy about microchips being implanted in us..

the "read" part is entirely optional

Because they have a spike in patients? What happens here EVERY winter????

It's not fine if it stops them getting essential lifesaving treatment !!!! People can believe whatever they want. Who are you to tell people what they can and can't believe? Many people believe in all sorts of ridiculous things.

Clearly COVID is an issue and is overall more deadly than flu if you take the total demographic into account. Also seems to affect men and ethnic minorities more severely. My point is healthy young people are missing checkups because they incorrectly believe that they, or even more laughably, their children, are at high risk of dying from COVID if they go in a hospital.

Yea. More like "watch youtube conspiracy crap" or "read in less than 140 characters of conspiracy crap"

Yea. And if people want to believe the world is flat, they can go ahead.
And if people want to point out that's silly, dumb and not based on good evidence or rational thinking, they can go ahead too.

It’s bizarre. You’re a sheep if you believe the scientific, mainstream narrative but you’re a free thinking renegade if you form your opinions and beliefs by listening to some gobsh*te going live on Facebook from an Aldi car park because he can’t go to the gym.

No. It was because they were overwhelmed with Covid patients, ICU wards were reaching capacity and several countries were weeks away from their healthcare systems being completely overrun. I strongly suggest you read the news rather than making silly guesses.
People can believe whatever they want. Who are you to tell people what they can and can't believe? Many people believe in all sorts of ridiculous things.

Because people spread disinformation and false news. Hundreds of people have died from false Corona cures. People were refusing to wear masks because they didn't think the virus was real. Read any thread in this forum to see the type of nonsense these people are trying to spread. Medical disinformation can have serious repurcussions - e.g. the resurgence of measles is directly related to the spread of anti-vax disinfo.

Sebastian Friebel, a former parliamentary adviser to the Bundestag, blows the whistle on what he claims the governments of the world are doing to their own people.

He's not blowing the whistle, he's just gone full loon. All his points in that lengthy post are the usual Corona conspiracy theory talking points; Bill Gates, ID2020, "big banks", corporations, media, Snowden, anti-mask, compulsory vaccination, most of it is there in some form. It's fairly cringey stuff.

Why has someone who was a government employee gone off the deep end? dunno, it happens to people, journalists (Gemma O'Doherty), ex-politicians, experts, doctors, etc are not immune from buying into silly conspiracy theories or developing that world view

But isn't it clear that SMEs are being crushed? Pubs being destroyed? The big players have seen their profit levels increase massively throughout all of this.

This is a man who knows what's going on in government. He's trying to warn people.

It's the usual broken record generic conspiracy narrative trotted out every time something happens in the world. It's dumb as bricks.
This is a man who knows what's going on in government. He's trying to warn people.

He clearly doesn't, and I'm not sure he has all his marbles. Just because someone is an expert or experienced in something or worked in government doesn't make them immune from being a lunatic or having stupid views.

Again, there are individual doctors who are anti-vax. There are individual scientists who think man didn't land on the moon. There are individual experts who believe in ghosts. People believe stupid stuff all the time.

Well, YouTube is rather fond of censoring people, so people have no choice but to turn to other platforms.

You would then have to wonder why Youtube and other platforms are censoring them. Are they all in on the "Lets hide the real truth from getting out" or is it because the message they are sharing is so far from reality that it can't stand over facilitating sharing it?

They are removing disinformation. You do realise that conspiracy theorists and woo merchants and fantasists make stuff up?

Alex Jones made up a story that relatives of slain children in a school shooting were actually actors. There people, who had lost kids, were actually harassed by people on the internet who believed it, they couldn't visit their kids graves, some of them had to move multiple times. When it was taken to court, Alex Jones immediately admitted it was all made up. Alex Jones has been deplatformed by multiple social media platforms because he trafficks in disinformation, some of which can be harmful. Private platforms have every right to remove disinformation, especially if it's harmful.

But they censored the highly respected Professor Knut Wittkowski, for example. Facebook censored Professor Carl Heneghan recently. They censor anyone who disagrees with the WHO.

No, they deplatform people who produce false information.
