I would imagine the op has thought of this

I imagine the house keys are downstairs so no way of getting them from his bedroom and then no way in to the downstairs and probably nobody has a spare key

Chances are aswell they have no charger in the bedroom so right now we can only hope for the best and think of the worst

I know. But anyone who has no charger upstairs is a bit silly TBH. Everyone should have a trusted person with a spare key anyway. My NDNs have mine. I have theirs. It's always a relief to know this just in case.

To stop the kids interrupting a good shag.

Even a rubbish shag would do.

I have the exact same handles so I assume the same locking mechanism. Those are B&Q handles. Anyway, the Basta type key will lock those but will not unlock them. I discovered the same issue as OP when my wife tried random keys she found in the house and locked us out of the room. The only fix was climb in the window and use the correct key to unlock which happened to be in the room.

First of all I don't know what kind of doors most people seem to have but mine are solid wood and I would break bones trying to bust them down.

econdly I hope we are not going to be left never knowing about OP. Some things can haunt forever :(

Yea I'm surprised at this suggestion as well, I think most doors these days are pretty robust. There is no way I'd be able to kick down or through any of the doors in my house, especially from the inside.

Seemed like a happy couple. Anybody know of a good medium so we can get in touch and find out?

I’m waiting for a headline tomorrow of a young man, found flat on the ground close to the door, named Matt.

The escape plan in the case of fire is jumping out of the window. That's why there's extra regs for protected means of escape and fire doors when you do an attic conversion, because jumping out of a second floor window hurts a lot.

You do know you can get an escape ladder that hooks under the windowboard or bolt to the wall under the window. A lot less painful than jumping.;)

Happened to my parents when I was a kid. The lock must have broken somehow. Looking back they were obviously locking the door for some privacy :pac:

My Father told me to go to my Aunt's and Uncle's house and ask for a hacksaw blade and under no circumstances tell them what it was for :D

I passed it under the door and my father cut through the bolt with it.

I'd say he was there a while with a hacksaw blade

Just throw your Mrs through the door.

Well, if the water supply to the taps fail, you do what you have to do to survive

Search your bedroom for sources of hydrochloric acid.

Most likely he's a rock hound and he's currently Shawshank'ing his way through the bedroom wall.

    That **** takes time.

Water is available as are ablutions, no bother for a day or two.

What will they eat/order when out though? Yum.

I got confused with this thread and universally loved irish thread and was wondering had I missed something amazing.

Sure women love that. Surely this thread needs to be moved to AH by this stage.

When life closes a door. Open it back up; sort of how doors work
