School Committee member Lorna Rivera said at a January meeting that she was disturbed by the findings, noting that nearly 60 percent of fourth graders in the program at the Ohrenberger school in West Roxbury are white even though most third graders enrolled at the school are Black and Hispanic.

"This is just not acceptable," Rivera said at a recent school committee meeting. "I've never heard these statistics before, and I'm very very disturbed by them

This is beyond stupid - the statistics are disturbing so we just need to remove the source of these statistics.

The racial achievement gap is nothing new. Asian Americans consistently outperform everyone else in education, while Hispanics and African Americans consistently perform worst.

Banning advanced classes because they disproportionately benefit Asian and white students is beyond ridiculous. It amounts to an effort to ban people from excelling in case some excel and others don't.

That's equity for ya - if oppressed group A statistically don't perform, others who perform must be brought down to that level.
Notice zero talk of lifting 'oppressed group A' up or God forbid, looking at people as individuals (ie, investigating and finding out why they under-perform)

Yes, but they will be able to claim they achieved racial equity.
Maybe canceling NASA is next, have a look at this https://mars.nasa.gov/people/?category=mars2020 it's showing similar racial makeup as that school program. They already went so far to add pronouns to the profile so they're already half way there.

A white man hasn't competed in the men's 100 metres Olympic final since 1980. Curiously, not a peep out of the woke about achieving racial equity in athletics.

Yes, let's cancel NASA. We need to get rid of white supremacist math and engineering so we can all go back to living in caves...

Considering Gorman herself had selected Rijneveld to translate it really show that muppets will continue to muppet when there isn't even a need for it.

I should mention that the muppet Janice Deul, who forced white Rijneveld off the job, is black and probably looking for the gig herself.

And Amanda Gorman choose the interpreter herself. How patronising towards Gorman. Apparently others know better than her what is right. Gorman wasn’t even pure enough. You can never be pure enough.

Christoph Lemaitre is the fastest white man in the world and the only one to run under 10 seconds.
Former 200m Olympic and World bronze medalist.
He would probably have reached the Olympic final in 2012 but chose to run the 200m and 4x100m instead.
    A pretty unique athlete.

    https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2021/0301/1200205-netflix-show-under-fire-over-deeply-sexist-swift-joke/
Taylor Swift has hit out at the Netflix show Ginny And Georgia after it featured what she described as a "lazy" and "deeply sexist" joke about her.

The series finale of the comedy-drama saw lead characters Ginny Miller, played by Antonia Gentry, and her mother Georgia, played by Brianne Howey, argue about relationships.

Asked whether she had broken up her with her boyfriend, Ginny said: "What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift."

The dialogue prompted fans of Swift, known as 'Swifties', to criticise the show and its cast members on social media, with some encouraging a boycott of the series.

Swift has now addressed the controversy, writing on Twitter: "Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back.

"How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shi* as FuNnY.

"Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn't look cute on you. Happy Women’s History Month I guess."

I always found her to be a prude.

    This is beyond nutty.

If one said publicly black people are of some physical difference (or of any difference) you'd get lynched by the leftist's, but here they are saying there is a difference, hence the complaint.

I think what happened here is the actress is looking for a way out :)

the movie was panned and it's also about Nina's alcholism and temper tantrums and thus lost the support of her estate...

Interesting New York Times story from a few weeks ago (Will American Ideas Tear France Apart? Some of Its Leaders Think So) about a backlash in France against American-style woke leftism.
PARIS — The threat is said to be existential. It fuels secessionism. Gnaws at national unity. Abets Islamism. Attacks France’s intellectual and cultural heritage.

The threat? “Certain social science theories entirely imported from the United States,’’ said President Emmanuel Macron.

French politicians, high-profile intellectuals and journalists are warning that progressive American ideas — specifically on race, gender, post-colonialism — are undermining their society. “There’s a battle to wage against an intellectual matrix from American universities,’’ warned Mr. Macron’s education minister.

Emboldened by these comments, prominent intellectuals have banded together against what they regard as contamination by the out-of-control woke leftism of American campuses and its attendant cancel culture.

The irony, of course, is that the postmodernist and Marxist ideas that have reshaped American universities were imported wholesale from Europe from the 1960s onward — with France a prominent influence. So in one sense, France is now reaping what it sowed back then.

Still, it's good to see French leaders standing up to this, unlike in Ireland, where the government, RTE, etc., are all marching in lockstep to the woke agenda, and where anyone voicing concern is labeled "far right." Imagine an Irish education minister talking about the need to wage war against the intellectual influence of American universities!

True, there is a direct link from Parisian universities to the killing fields in Cambodia

Anyone else notice that the majority of people in ads on tv these days are black? I find that fascinating. Using a person's skin colour to sell a product or service.

Technically, that could be classed as racist, choosing to use a black actor to play the role.
Unless they can prove that the ethnic percentages of actors closely matches that of the intended audience.

Nowhere near the majority are black, but they are represented far over their numbers here. What's even more exaggerated is the amount of mixed race couples they depict in ads compared to the real numbers.

Part of it is trying to be 'with it', but a lot of it is fear from an online backlash if they don't have enough ethnic minorities in it.

Ireland has about 1% black population, so do the maths.

There an ad for internet service provider in which two people are gaming and eventually become friend. The boy is in a wheel chair and the girl is black. It doesn't bother me at all it's just such an uncommon pairing that it had to be deliberate.

Well, I wouldn't say that the majority are black, but there's definitely over-representation of minorities in corporate advertising — not because companies use skin colour to sell their products, but because they fear being cancelled if they don't have the requisite representation of women & minorities.

It is always the bigger companies that benefitted from WWII lecturning people. Bellends. There are more examples like this but they're not suitable for boards

Its mostly fear of cancel culture, so there has to be token diversity whether its logical or not.

    A few ads are notable.
The Halifax Bank ad were most of the people in the ad are non white.
Its also noticeable that all the workers in the ad are white, the flower delivery man, the street cleaner, the vets and the bank official.

Microsoft Teams has another ad with Hasbro that has a very high diversity level.
Hasbro being our friends who recently did the huge u-turn on Mr Potato Head.

Trade unions around the world have launched a boycott of Coca-Cola products, alleging that the company's locally owned bottlers in Colombia used illegal paramilitary groups to intimidate, threaten and kill its workers.

The unions claim Coca-Cola bottlers hired far-right militias of the United Self Defence Forces of Colombia (AUC) to murder nine union members at Colombian bottling plants in the past 13 years.

There was a time women's rights were the woke of woke. Now having advanced (rightfully) in society, for some, equality really sucks...
