Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mayo is there but it won't be exactly as it is on the ground. A lot of the buildings are 'best guesses'.

New update is a crock. Game seems to riddled with problems since. Crashes to desktop, camera bugs, VFR map, downgraded graphics, unresponsive cockpit.

Not the sort of game you want to be buggin out after a 3 hour flight, was a much better game day 1 imo.

Anyone been able to do an update to Shannon yet? Kills me with no parking

I'm working on it at the moment. All parking, jetways and runways will be correct. No custom buildings though, just stock hangar models and terminals, that's where my skills end:)

Any recomendations on a GPU for this game?

Turns out my decent PC isn't good enough for this.....

I can't be a full size tho I can only use the half sized ones and struggling a bit to get the right one.

Anyone got a list of airfields in Ireland? Saw two I didn’t recognise on a streamer’s map as he passed them, EICD and EIIB. Mystified as to what they’re supposed to be...

    EICD Castlebridge Airport, Wexford.

    EIIB Inishboffin Airfield (Closed). Galway.

Inisbofin sounds right, but I don’t think the EICD on the map a few miles away was Wexford. Clifden maybe? Anyways I’d say it’s closed as well as Inisbofin. I’ll just have to take a look when I get this myself (in a few years unless I win the lotto :(

My internet connection has been fairly unreliable for downloading and am keen to get my mitts on a legit hard copy if possible anywhere. Thanks you :)

Great job! Didn’t know about this thread and had said to one of my friends who plays this how bad Shannon was and he pointed me in this direction. Tried it out this morning and it’s a brilliant job! Lots of lads around Shannon this morning too.

Possible solution for those with no joystick here.

I have a decent HOTAS but wouldn't mind building my own rudder pedals/control panel.

I pre ordered the throttle it on Amazon. Says it's delivering by 28th but I doubt it will. I bit the bullet and got the flightstick last month. Glad I did.

I've spend my most of my time in the TBM 930, it's great for just getting around and sightseeing a large area, also the x cub and savage cub for low and slow

Been in the MB339 the last few days tho getting used to it

I preordered it on Amazon a month ago and it's supposed to be delivered by Wednesday. Considering there's people on Reddit who preordered it in August and have had their orders cancelled, I'm not holding my breath.

The only place you can get it is from price gougers on eBay selling it for at least twice the RRP.

In saying that, you would think you would have gotten an email by now...

Their twitter account gives some hope....

If you pre-ordered in on Amazon France and you have not received an email, it is possible that you will still receive one shortly.

If you have not placed an order yet or if your order gets cancelled, you will have to wait for the items to be restocked. ETA to follow...

I still have some hope, but not much. People in the UK would have had a delivery date of 23 October. Mine is 26 to 28 October so I imagine if I get an email it will be in that period. With other items I pre-ordered on Amazon I would have been charged by now.

My TCA Airbus sidestick and thrusters arrived today. Really polished hardware, it all looks and feels great. The stick is a joy to fly with. The thrusters need some patching (which I think is coming soon) but again they also feel great to use.

Now I just need to do some PC upgrading to get the most out of everything!

Direct from TM, back at the start of August. It was originally due to ship at the end of September, then got pushed back to end of October.

    Mine was cancelled today.

I managed to get the throttle quadrant on eBay for €99 from a Saturn store in Berlin. I had to use a German parcel forwarder as they only ship to Germany.

some serious scalping happening on ebay with them. Checked out Saturn but no joy.

Unbelievable! Its all from the USA too so add customs on top of it.

I saw a German site had it advertised for the 29th, it went on sale and I went to buy it but it only shipped to Germany. It was sold out again in 20 minutes.

I got the throttle quadrant from Saturn on eBay. I used Mailboxde, a German parcel forwarding company. I was very impressed at how fast they were. It was delivered to them at 09:00, I was notified at 09:30 and it was collected by UPS at 14:00. They give you a choice of Deutsche Post, Czech Post, GLS or UPS.

I was going to get it delivered to my colleague in Frankfurt and get DHL to pick it up but he was in a meeting all morning so it was sold out when he came free.

I'm not too bothered about the Yoke as im quite comfortable with my Saitek ST 290 pro and i like having the pitch trim and flaps on the stick. Its saying available now again on the 5th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 851 ✭✭✭vintagecosmos

The honeycomb throttle looks the business. Wish it was out before I got all my Saitek panels a few years ago.

Any recommendations for tutorials for total beginners? I've done the in game stuff and watched a few videos by some squirrel guy on YouTube. Just wondering if there's any other places that would guide you through it. I feel kinda at a loss of what to do! Tutorial ends and then it's just off ya go :o I've got a yoke and throttle so I'm all geared up :pac:
I'd love to get to the stage where I could do longish flights and knew where I was going easily...

If you're interested in flying the A320neo, there's a real A320 pilot on YouTube with lots of good tutorials for the autopilot, ILS, MCDU and so on. If you're able to use the autopilot long flights are much easier.

My Airbus Throttle Quadrant arrived today :) I had to adjust the settings in MSFS as it jumped from 0 to 50% very quickly but it works well now. I'm still waiting on the sidestick.

Haven't heard from Aerosoft or PMDG if they will offer some products like the Airbus Professional series or 747 V3 discounted to those who bought it for P3D 4 or 5.

Looking forward to testing the A320!

PMDG are working on a MSFS2020 version of the 737 NGXu previously released for Prepar3D. I understand it is due early 2021. They are giving people who bought the P3D version a decent discount on the MSFS2020 version when it is released.

The SSD is far too small. It's only 256 GB and a fair chunk of that will be taken up by the OS. MSFS recommends at least 150GB of disk space so you'll fill your SSD and probably won't have space for anything else.
Either get a laptop with at least 512GB or get a portable drive.

The CPU and GPU should be able to run it fairly well. 8GB RAM is the minimum, I strongly recommend 16 GB.

I'm a dope. Wasn't giving 100% attention and just realised they don't offer the quadrant on its own and I ordered another sidestick :) gonna email them to cancel.
